Substrate Colonization Technique?

Quick question on substrate colonization, I’m currently using patsywhyte ez-dial in monotubs, I have been told within the thread that after colonization of spawn and bulking out to sub. that I should just put in straight under 12/12 lighting. I remember from my previous grows I always threw a garbage bag over the tub and let colonize. So I guess is it ok put straight under light would that cause premature pinning?

Fruiting conditions means you don't need to worry about colonisation conditions, but nothing wrong with putting a bag/lid on and letting it colonise abit more

With the ez dialed tubs you dont do anything. Just put them in your grow area with the light on after spawning. Wait until its time to harvest!

To stop drips from the lid coming down on the substrate? How would you do this? I think I heard wax paper somewhere but havent tried it...

Ah cool cool. Noobs gonna be doin some noob shit. I feel like starting out you want to try every little trick and it just ends up making things more complicated and fail-prone. Anyway, glad I asked before I trying to construct my Orca Shroom Shed TEK.

Kinda funny seeing I’ve grow many successful monotubs in the past making not some much a noob. As outdate seeming great cultivators like Frank and RR speak on let the spawn colonize in the past and I’ve always done it that way. Instead of just adding to the confusion you could clarify why seeing lighting and FAE triggers pinning. In other words it’s not necessary to have the tub colonize?

I’m a bit confused by the wording of your... question? Maybe read your post again and fix some stuff so it reads better
Actually, lets see if I can take a stab at it.. adding FAE and lighting early on won’t make a tub fruit before it’s fully colonized.. if anything, it primes the myc so that when it is fully colonized, it pins asap.. that’s been my experience anyway, but i don’t think I’ve ever used a ratio below(? Maybe it’s above? Never quite figured that out) 1:2
