Is this health B+ or am I chasing a mold monoculture?

Like it says, am I a transfer or two from more tomentose growth or does this look like I’m just transferring mold? LME Agar.

Looks fine to me - it shows some vague rhizomorphic patterns as well which don't always show up on plates (especially after only a few transfers).

Rhizo. Right, that’s what I meant lol. That’s what I want. Hey, big thank you! I’ll keep transferring.

My first go around with this was almost immediate rhizo growth so I wasn’t as sure/confident with the fuzzy tomentose stuff.

Thanks again for giving me a second look. Gonna transfer it in a day or two.

It is quite normal if you take a piece of rhizo growth for the transfer to lose some of its "strandy" appearance in the new plate. It could come back after it grows out or would need a few more transfers ...or it might not happen for a while at all.

Generally rhizo is considered better as it typically means mycelium will be faster to colonise but that does not always directly translate to better fruits, but if you started from spores, you might as well try inoculating some grain as soon as you think the plate is clean (always have some backups/spares just in case).

If you get some nice fruits - try cloning those to agar and that could result in some better genetics.

Awesome. Thank you so much.
