Noob, needing some reassurance

2nd grow after 1st failure. Fruiting these in a garage, that I must run a fan/heater in 24/7 . Containers are open, in a sealed grow bag with 5 micron filter. Surface completely dry when I get home from 9 hour day. I mist before and after work. They look ok? Can see tiniest hint of blue on first pic. Center 9:00

Running a heat/ fan can dry things out quickly and cause problems... but with that being said It looks really wet in there. I would increase fae, maybe poke a few holes in the bag or open it a few times a day. Over misting can cause the mycelium to matt up and get thick like that.
Evaporation between misting’s is a good thing, it promotes a healthy pin set. I have the same problem with Woodstove heat. Have to mist more often then I’d like.

The fan is probably drying them out. I use an oil filled space heater that has a digital thermostat built in which helps me save money and it also means the room won't become too hot or cold.

What’s the make and model of your heater?
I need to keep my attic a little warmer and electricity is costly.

This is the one I bought last year. Highly recommended. See if you can find one on Amazon that suits your country's electricity network.

Another option is to use a cheaper one but you plug it into a digital thermostat that you buy online or from a hardware shop or something.

That looks pretty unhappy to me, I’m thinking bacterial spawn. That rubbery look to the mycelium is not desirable at all.

Just very frustrating. How much time, care, and money, I've put into this, because I believe I'm supposed to do this at this moment in my life....but failure after failure, with hundreds of hours, studying and combing through all if this information. Just dont get it.

My first grow looked almost just like that and still ended up filling the box with mushrooms.
Putting a top layer of sub on helps a lot. Gives you a much wider range to learn surface conditions without hurting the mycelium.

Don't wait until one thing fails before starting the next. If you prep spawn every week, you have a new opportunity for success every week.
Failure is part of the process. Everyone here has had to deal with failure at some point, often many many times. And many times more in the future. Don't worry about it.

Got 5 different methods going right now, dont care about bulk. Literally just trying to get to a few fruits, to see for myself if this is worth pursuing. Never taken before, Cant find or buy anywhere. But constant failure, after failure when I'm literally days away......cant take much more.

Raleigh69, This work is a real exercise in patience. I should know since I have killed a few earlier grows in many different ways. It took me about 6 months to get my system dialed in completely. Once you get the system dialed it just flows along.
I see you are working with Agar now, that's the key to nice even growth and pins. I have some PE spores that I have been cleaning up on Agar for 2 months and 6 transfers plate to plate. The difference is with this method you are selecting the fastest growing sectors on the plates and transferring a very small sector about 4mm square to the next plate. Each plate should grow cleaner and cleaner rings of mycelium (faster too). Then before you drop the agar wedges into grains save a sector from the final plate on a new clean plate and let it grow again and once it hits 25% growth in the plate stick it in the fridge for later use.
One thing that really helped me was to spend a couple extra bucks and get antibiotic agar. It helps minimize bacterial growth on the Agar plates and you get better consistency. I also use a SAB (Still Air Box) for all my clean work.
Take a look at all of Bods growing Tek and Pastywhytes as well. Roger Rabbit has videos that cost $8 to download and they are full of great TEK as well.
Stick with it and you will be rewarded more than you can imagine and those earlier problems will fade away quickly. I wish you the best of luck.

I think bulk is much easier than cakes.
Why not knock out a shoebox and have plenty left over if you like it?
Bruising isn’t a death sentence but it does kinda suck.
Looks like you’ll get a good dose off the cake on the left in a few more days.

Not really sure where this failure is you’re talking about? Those cakes aren’t done.. there’s lots of pins on that one and it looks good.. it does look dry in that FC.. I’d mist the shit out if that perlite, maybe mist around the cakes.
Bluing is just bruising.. myc bruises easily so don’t sweat that.
You probably won’t get fruits all at the same time (unless it’s a clone) so also don’t sweat that that one cake isn’t producing yet.
Rewet the perlite and keep at it.. my .02

Right on, looks good
Something else you can do to rehydrate the cakes (only IF they need it—those don’t look like they do. You can over water a cake and their fruits will be paper thin and small so only if they need it) is called “bottom-watering” https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23709670/fpart/1/vc/1
It’s real simple... just add some water to the dish your cakes are in/on and the cakes will slowly wick up water. I find it was more effective than directly misting fruits and cakes
Check that thread out.
Good job!
