seeking guidance on increasing my yield

The smell of fresh mycelium in a fruiting chamber is such a sweet smell! I just birthed 8 cakes into my SGFC after dunking in room temp water for about 24 hours. I rolled them in verm then set them on mason jar lids in the SGFC. Let sit for 45 minutes then misted and fanned them. This is my 2nd time growing and I want to increase my yield. My first grow I only I had half the perlite I do now. I was informed that was a big factor in my yield being low (about 7-9 grams dry total). I have a few questions regarding the current consensus on creating and maintaining optimal conditions in the SGFC. The pictures below are from today. Would you change anything about my setup?
- How often should I mist and fan before pinning / after pinning?
- Should I buy a hygrometer to keep an eye on the humidity? (I think that is what screwed me last time!
I want to have a bigger yield so I can share with more of my friends this time around... Any guidance is welcome

If you configured the tub as per shotgun Tek, your humidity is just fine. Hydrometers don’t measure anything you need to know. We only care about humidity at the surface, not above it.
If you want bigger yields, spawn to coir instead of fruiting cakes.

You have any recommendations regarding misting and fanning? Do you think the SGFC will maintain on its own?

The SGFC was designed for no-maintenance growing in horrible conditions (RR was living in the mountains, extremely low humidity, etc.)
Fanning has been found to be useless in the past few years.
Misting is tougher to say, but I wouldn’t go further than 2-4 sprays, 1-2 times a day. That’s still too much, until you harvest tbh. After the first flush, you can really soak them with the mister.

The two largest factors in yeilds will be food and genetics. If you inoculated for MultiSpore syringes you rolled that dice and not much to do from there. Your food source is your substrate, the mycelium will consume it based on your random genetics in the syringe. If you really want to increase yeilds start working with agar and isolates or clones. In regard to your misting, 1-2 times ever 24 hours is fine. I would move the light futher away from the SGFC if it is not LED.

Move your cakes closer and center them, they will work off each others heat currents, sgfc's work best stuffed so this will help compensate for it. Other than that you should be fine

Yep.
I’ll put these up again.
I started pf jars and quarts of wbs at the same time.
The cake took a little longer than the shoebox, and I had to keep an eye on it more.
This was the same strain started the same time, finished sooner with less work.

It was my first grows and I used a HC for the cake so I’m sure it could’ve done better, but still couldn’t compare to the shoebox.

Holy smokes dude! Do you have a link to a step-by-step for your methodology?

Do you have a recommendation on syringes to use in the future? As in, who to buy from and what type? This strain I am growing now is Psilocybe Cubensis - Puerto Rican

It’s just a quart of wbs colonized then mixed into a shoebox with like two quarts of coir.
There’s a few shoebox threads.
It’s really much better than fruiting cakes, you can also break rice flour cakes up into coir same thing.
