All right my friends...
2018 was an amazing season. 2019 proved a bit of a disappointment. 2020 is off to a slow start given that it’s january 8th and no one has posted any active finds...
I almost don’t want to break the seal with such a pathetic specimen but ladies and gentlemen I present to you, for the first time in 2020 on the Shroomery (in Florida lol), the elusive psilocybe cubensis.

Whatever, it's the first find of the year to the 2020 Florida season. At least we didn't have to wait until February or March and I think the rain this weekend will kick it off nice for yall in the central/Southern area of the State. Maybe even in the panhandle if the temperature/humidity doesn't drop right afterwards.

Found me a new pasture to hit this weekend. I saw over 100 head of cattle in there a few weeks back, and methinks should be about ripe for picking now 🍄

I just moved to Florida in October and haven't found any spots to hunt yet but a TON of boletes pop up in the parking lot by my apartment. They don't use pesticides or anything so they're safe to eat and delicious. Pulcheroboletus rubricitrinus is so tasty.

That was the 1st time I've been to this place, hopefully, I can get back in. The owner knows my mom and some of my acquaintances so it's a good possibility.
I only had time to check out one pasture quickly and the Panaeolus cyanescens were everywhere, but only saw 3 Ps. cubensis.

I spent the weekend in Tampa at an Ecuadorian San Pedro ceremony. That was my first ceremony, first drum circle, and first San Pedro in 20 years....FUUUUUUCK that was the most amazing thing I've ever done!!!! If any of you haven't been.....GO!!!!
Being my first time, I didn't know to bring an offering for the family. My friend didn't tell me that part...I felt terrible about it, and in the morning we all got to talking about mushies. I looked over, saw a herd of cows in the adjacent pasture, and offered to teach everyone how to ID cyans. We picked about ½oz and shared them among about 12 of us, had a nice low level mush trip, and enjoyed the morning until we were all good to drive again.
Thank you all for your help in my learning to ID cyans. I was able to share the knowledge with a whole group of people who will all be able to benefit from it for the rest of their lives!!!
Mush love everyone!

That's what it's all about my friend, sharing the love.
Your friend deserves a kick in the junk for not telling you about the gift slash offering. PM me some information on this if you don't mind, sounds like it could be worth making the drive.

I agree that it sounds cool and welcome to the shroomery, I too was interested in this but I'm pretty sure that it would be considered sourcing and that's against the rules for obvious reasons

whoops! I guess i should have changed the question to take the convo off site :/. Regardless thanks for the welcome , i hope to start (complete beginner noob btw) hunting soon but this cold front is killing my vibe
I have a cow pasture literally walking distance from my house right next to the everglades, never looked there before 2 nights ago and really only found turkey tails on some trees, and some super small mushies on some dried up cow patties. Gonna go look again when its gets warmer for sure.

It's all good!!! When you hit the pasture focus on old turds because they never grow in fresh manure, only the aged stuff. If the temps are in the mid 50's and up it's worth looking. I have found cubes when temps hit the 30's but they are small and seem to hug the patties and are potent AF.

san pedro ceremonies are done in a very closed circle among friends. it's not something you bring someone you just met to. they are very clandestine.
