Is salvia ever enjoyable

So I just found out that salvia is legal in my home state of NY, meaning it should be pretty easy to get some when I go back for spring break. Now, I was never planning on doing salvia, but in the interest of curiosity I feel like I have to if it's legal... do any of y'all have good experiences with it, or is it just super scary?

My first psychedelic experience was with salvia. It was very strange and uncomfortable, but a worthwhile experience. It gave me a new appreciation for the world comparable to the awe after a shroom trip. But enjoyable? I don't think so.

Smoking a salvia extract and chewing the leaves are two different experiences. If i were in a legal state i would obtain a plant, growing plants is just as great an experience as any psychedelic/psychoactive experience i've ever had.
Salvia was legal in my state when i first got into psychedelics, i was young and dumb and didn't get a plant. Now it is near impossible to obtain one, at least where im located.
I understand wanting to be a connoisseur lol. That was my main goal when i left my parents house, to experience everything i could. Psychedelic drugs were very high on that list
When i was in NYC ~8 years ago every headshop that i went into had salvia so it shouldn't be hard to find. Seriously though get a plant. You might find extracts uncomfortable, but that is not how the plant is traditionally used. You might want to experiment with quid down the line and who knows what the legality of salvia in your state will be then.

Yes by far more intense.
Its akin to a solid 2.5g-3g dose of mushrooms (quid) vs 70mg of smoalked DMT (20x+ extract).

Start with a light dose, people generally consume WAYYY to much of highly concentrated extract vs using raw leaf to ease into the experience. My general thoughts are that the norm for salvia is overdosing and having very intense and sometimes scary experience. It would be like if everyone started off using acid by eating a whole sheet.
Get some 10x and start with baby hits and work your was up, I think its a very bizarre and often uncomfortable experience but very interesting and worth while. That being said I've never "broke through" so to speak.

Also, salvia recognita seeds are legal and recently discovered to contain Salvinorin. I got a bunch that I just planted and got great germination.

Yep the nursery i worked at a while ago carries several kinds of salvia and Recognita was one of them. I have access to the plants, but the allure of divinorum is strong.
You gonna post pics of your garden of eden wizardry?

Yeah most definitely, was actually just setting up an FTP server to move all my files over from my phone / tablet so I'll probably post some tonight.
As far as S. Recognia, it smells amazing too. I'm really liking it, it's nice that it's more cold hardy as well. Getting some germination 9 months after planting in a really cold garage, was shocked to see them pop so long after planting.

when I smoke moderate amounts of salvia, I enjoy it a lot, partly for the sensation-layering, but more for the bizarre intellectual freedom - able to consider far ranging ideas and finding solid relations between them.
the short duration for such intensity is a huge benefit.
one can go in, and come out with mental souvenirs and - Phew! that's enough for today kind of thing.
low time investment for immense resonance.

I smoked it before, will second the 'bizarre' feeling. Kind of like taking a shot and instantly being drunk. It turns into being aggravated and annoyed for me and i don't like it.

Honestly, never enjoyed it. Smoked it a few times about 15 years ago. First couple of times, just felt disassociated and bewildered. Slight skin irritation. Then one night, with friends, I took a huge bong rip of 20x. Now I had only the experience with salvia I had previously. Always wanted the great visuals and hallucinations but was unexpecting of what happened that night. We were watching TV, some game show. The background was this beigish pink of some sort of game show. After exhaling my attention went to the TV and suddenly my whole reality became immersed in that landscape. My only real visual recollection I can best describe it as gliding through a world of pig hooves beneath me. Was in this state for five minutes and completely lost touch with everyone around me. After coming back to consciousness a little, my friend was asking me what it did and all I could respond was "what?" hahaha. I couldn't really put things to words or make coherent sentences for about 30 mins after that. Had the itchy skin thing again as well. Not expecting it to be like that is what did me in. I doubt I would ever do it again as it just wasn't enjoyable even in the lower doses. But don't let my experience stop you, just wanted to pitch in.

me too, mostly, sometimes the loss of control is embarrassing - it can be a ludicrous inebriant.
