John is doing alright. I decided i don’t want to fuck w chris anymore and am sticking with John cuz at the end of the day real friends stick with you through thick and thin and definitely don’t make a big drama or cut you off over something as trivial as this. I realize if it’d had been me in johns place chris would have treated me the same way and that’s not a friend i want to have around. I feel like the only thing that would justify something like that is if said person came over your house and got drunk and started insulting you and you family and friends and tried to pick a fight. but this is far from that.

Chris is the type of guy who rather look good in front of his crowd and cut someone off over something stupid like this than stick by his friends. Fuck chris

Yeah op! I would do the same thing, tbh. No one likes a sloppy drunk, but accidentally drinking too much on a special occasion and acting a fool is nothing to throw away years of friendship over. If this was a reoccurring destructive pattern, maybe Chris would have a point. I've cut people off who started doing shady junkie things and stuff like that, but over something like this? It's hard enough to find long term friends as an adult, why throw it all away over something like that?

I've been in semi similar situations and took the side of the ostracized friend, and now she's my best friend, and I'm still good friends with the rest of the people in the group(though not as close for a variety of reasons).

Hey OP your friends sound like gossipping little bitches. They need to learn how to party harder like John

Y'all need to band together, and stand up to ALPHA-Chris or he'll keep running the show, and micromanaging your lives.

Given what you've told us it definitely sounds like chris is overreacting, however there could be history between John and Chris that you are unaware about that could be causing him to be this upset. I think you
are correct though, we've all made fools of ourselves drunk or high, and booting someone out of a friend group because they got fucked up one night is pretty unfair. Even making him not hang out because of that
is unfair IMO. I would maybe talk with Chris and ask why he's acting liek this, if there was somethign else that might've happened. But good on you for siding with John.
