When the swine mixed with the birds, and a new recession began?
I'm well aware H1N1 is influenza and covid19 is not. Like psi said, many people will have some coronavirus immunity...because they have been around awhile. There are tons of survivors, and many are saying its a lot like a cold/flu.
Shotguns are great for home defense. You can also shoot ducks and stuff to eat...

I get it, but this is probably the single most important address from a president ever in his reelection year. I'm not surprised really, just pointing out the ludicrous behavior.

There is no evidence of novel coronavirus immunity. Novel means new. Never been seen before. No acquired immunity.

So everyone should exercise caution and do the most to promote health.
SARS occurred in 2002-2004 and had a much higher fatality rate.
Wuhan Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) 2%* SARS 9.6%
Yet, while there was much concern, it wasn't treated like the zombie apocalypse. Is it the state of government and media that is causing the current climate and reaction?

Ok Dr. Koods. Novel also means fictitious narrative. If its a coronavirus it has a similar structure to the others, even if its a new strain.

Immunity is based on the amino acid sequence in the protein coating. You don’t know what you’re talking about

It's a few things. The fact that it's contagious before being symptomatic.
Its also very easily transmitted.
Both of those things lead to a lot of people getting sick all at the same time.
Hospitals become over crowded and everyday emergencies can no longer be addressed in without making compromise. People will be prioritized based on their chances of survival.
The ecenomic impact is almost as concerning.

The sick peiple from the cruise ship went to hospital not quarantine.

Take it how you want, but many more people are recovering than dying...which obviously hints at some kind of immunity.

Contrast it with your flu example then. Isn't every new strain of flu a novel strain? And yet our immunity to previously seen strains helps out.

It’s unbeleivable they are still taking about removing testing constraints two months into this. The incompetence is astounding.

Mutations happen slowly. Immunity is reduced but some remains.
This virus never existed in the human population before. This amino acid sequence is completely unknown to the immune system.
For example the 1918 flu was an H1N1 virus. It is speculated that it affected younger people more because older people had been exposed to a similar virus about 40 years earlier.
