DC has managed to keep new infections from getting out of control and antibody testing showed a few weeks ago that only 6% of residents have had the virus. There is very high mask compliance and no bars and mostly outdoor dining. States like NJ and New York have essentially shut down community spread with science based decisions and a population that takes the risks seriously. Other states that made decisions based on magical thinking have predictably not fared as well.
How's Wisconsin doing. I just was at an amusement park where masks were suggested. Which meant literally no one had one. Also the pool was the same. Bars and restaurants have a little letter from the Governor displayed. But also almost every police department in the state said they wouldn't enforce so also no masks in bars and restaurants.
In the city people figured the loophole for masks at bars is to just always hold your drink by your mouth and that's only at places that are trying to look vigilant.
Wisconsin has one of the highest per capita new case counts in the country

Well the defense act to increase testing has me starting a new contract with a major lab. I guess we’ll be using minimum manipulated tissue. these dont fall under strict guidelines and trials can be bypassed. example on organ donation you can make spinal spacers out of femurs with cnc robotics. We didn’t manipulate the stem cells from amniotic sac donation.
The way they want to use this plasma would fall under Under the regulatory framework for HCT/Ps, minimal manipulation of cells or nonstructural tissues is defined as processing that does not alter the relevant biological characteristics of cells or tissues (21 CFR 1271.3(f)(2)).
Hence the process would of been sped up no matter what as this doesn’t fall under the guise of an actual drug but are usually the most effective because they are organic.

This case of reinfection in Hong Kong seems to conform the worry that people who get mild or asymptomatic cases do not stay immune for very long. We need the vaccine.

Will any vaccine work well enough anyway? The ones we have for most viral diseases don't work particularly well some do work but... Coupled with the fact they're not mandatory and not enough people will get it...

Why does that matter?
My personal well-being has no bearing on the damaging societal effects our response is having on the lower socioeconomic classes, with an emphasis on women and minorities.
It has already been made quite clear that my lived experience is not allowed in this thread.

Spoken like someone who lives in the 1st world seemingly not understanding what vaccines have done for him.
If people realised the efficacy and reality (or perhaps pain through lack of) that good vaccines bring they would not need be made mandatory....A bit like clean water.

Idk man, discounting the obvious possibilities of equipment issues and other circumstantial shit like that leading to his second positive (dont forget he cetainly aint the first time theyve claimed a reinfection and I would be utterly shocked if this doesnt fade away exactly like that did), that's one case out of how many million? I mean, not exactly inspiring existential terror.

You appear to be depicting yourself of an ally for a population of people- specifically, young people who are experiencing economic hardship as a result of government actions taken to limit the spread of COVID. I still interact with a lot of people, and many of those people fully support those actions- despite that economic hardship. Many of them are willing to temporarily make sacrifices for the good of the whole- a whole that, from their perspective, includes the aging population. I imagine that those particular people probably don't appreciate you citing their economic hardship as a reason for calling government actions into question, since they themselves don't do it.
I am, however, perfectly willing to listen to the rationale of those who are personally undergoing economic hardship who do not support those actions.
I was just trying to clarify whether or not you were speaking from personal experience, or engaging in allyship.

You keep maintaining a false dichotomy that there is a choice between health and economics. That is understandable given the political narratives that are pushed. Reality is that many places in the world have managed to adopt practices to protect health without destroying their economy.
Your motive is to discredit others while constantly asserting yourself and your opinion as superior. You do not speak for the populations of people mentioned, and your imagination of their beliefs is irrelevant.
I don't speak for them either. I provided reputable news sources who do speak for and advocate for them based on journalistic research.
Your anecdotes are not superior to this. Why should I bother to provide my own when the same can be said? You don't ask questions in the pursuit of truth, your intention is duplicitous.
Lay down the cross.

This is in the context of data showing that ~30% of asymptomatic patients have undetectable antibody levels within a month of clearing the virus.

What vaccines don’t work particularly well? Aside from flu vaccines, which are sometimes not terribly effective due to having to predict the strains that most need to be covered. But even then, the flu vaccine mitigates the severity of infections, even if it doesn’t prevent it. Smallpox, polio, measles, rubella, chickenpox... all these vaccines essentially stop a virus from existing in communities where there are good vaccination rates.
