That sounds to me far more like employing common sense and being prepared, as opposed to having ones guard up?
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Guard%20up https://www.quora.com/Why-do-I-have-trust-issues-always-put-my-guard-up
Alas, semantics. I think having ones guard up is a symptom of siege mentality, which is a scarily common mentality around here.

Ok have to open my mind little bit more about this subject. US was informed about the global situation. There was time to lift the guard up. Nothing was done. I'm not talking about personal level thing in this one.
But now as the second wave/first wave is coming (or first one going stronger. I see no difference same virus still) it is lot about getting and keeping your personal guard up. Not too many days of enough sun to left to disinfect the surfaces during mid day
Me isolation maybe in 25 days. After that it is still to lab in School before working/training/exams in hospital. Social distancing when out in public. Not going to wear a mask for walk in nature etc. In public if numbers go up again? Yes.when have to work with patients. Absolutely! If no work for 2 month etc no mask for me unless situation here in Finland demands it.good hand hygiene.
This is my guards up. All so: healthy diet, move enough. Supplement with at least c d and zinc.
Stay safe everybody but remember that that all so means staying healthy and happy!

it is so utterly frustrating that the US government would shut down export of masks but not mandate that their citizens wear the masks they have now secured

lol, I never thought of it that way, I remember the pulp/mask thing on the news here

Florida has over 10,000 new cases today with 15% positivity. Trump called th situation “putting out embers” today. It’s a forest fire.

yeah it was a big issue we ended up with Alberta sending a bunch of its masks to the rest of Canada because they cut a deal with China then the Chinese masks were trash and made life worse for Alberta healthcare workers and the Alberta government was like "stop politicizing a crisis" -_-
now Alberta has been one of our hardest hit provinces but at least we are getting our numbers under control but we can't reopen the US border until they get things under control and actually telling people to use the masks would have been a great step

apparently Manitoba is no longer noteworthy enough for google's main page so we get detailed information about what is going on in Ontario

Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain attended the Trump rally in Tulsa 12 days ago. Today he was admitted to the hospital with covid. 12 days is the sweet spot for time from infection to hospitalization.
Median incubation time: 5 days Median time from first symptoms to hospitalization: 7 days

My mom’s friend is a contact tracer in Florida. She has a month long contract and they put her up in a hotel for tracers where they all work together. She just started two days ago.
I think they’ll probably have to use law enforcement to get some of these people to comply with isolation orders

Herman Cain posted this yesterday. Four days after testing positive and a day before being hospitalized. These people are sociopaths.

Looks like Trump is going to lose a large part of his support base by November. How much did he win by?
Dems. Your best hope of getting rid of this cunt is to out smart his voter base. Protect yourselves, mask up, and win 2020! Good luck

I want to stop bad vibing the EMC thread so

Bad vibes today tbh. Got triggered and shit and found out my aunt and cousin and her baby daddy and the baby all have covid. Aunt isn't doing real well
Sucks cuz her husband my uncle in law committed suicide 4 years ago on Easter after a long battle with crippling injuries and depression.
Bad vibes man.
People with complicated home lives, poor people, can't afford social distance. They also can't afford to get sick. Lose fucking lose.
My aunt got admitted this morning. She's in the ICU. The staff said she's the healthiest one in there despite, ya know, not being able to fucking breathe.
That's... scary.
And I'm mad basically no one can visit her.
My aunt and my uncle in law baby sat us when me and my bro were little. I baby sat my cousin when she was little. Sucks to see all the shit they've gone through as we all got older. Sucks I can't do much to be there for them when they've been there for me. They're family man. What family should be.
Something most of the rest of my family didn't really make the cut for.
Fuck China, fuck the US government, and fuck all these stupid kids. People. People with the consciousness of children.
Being locked away and helpless is the shitty thing man.
I've said before with marriage laws that I would murder someone keeping me from seeing my loved one in the ICU when they might not make it. That's how I feel right now. If it weren't for the fact that the no see rules exist to keep other families safe I'm not sure I could say that I'd be behaving myself.
