It's another 'masks aren't 100% perfect, so we shouldn't use them at all' theorist!! Yay!!!
I'm guessing the reason masks get so much hate, unlike all the other 'less than 100% perfect' solutions like keeping distance and washing hands, is because they feel a little more like having ones freedom taken away?
Is that what it is?

Good luck with that. We can’t even mandate masks in the south.

It’s not about filtering. It’s not about particles. It’s not about all these things you obsessively think it’s about.
It’s about changing the direction and force of the air that you breathe and speak out. You can’t project a stream of air forward from your face with a mask on. It has to go around the sides. That’s it. It’s that simple. That’s why it can be a bandana, or a shirt.

We could mandate masks and really lock shit down & all that jazz foreal foreal, but the current administration is to much of a pussy to set their foot down and do what needs to be done for the greater good.

Yes it is. as I said surgeons mask is designed for sterile enviroment. It filters the air you breath out.
Mask designed for sterile enviroment: filters what you breath out, it is its function to protect the patient, not you. okay protects you against droplets.
Mask designed for contamined enviroment: filters what you breath in not what you breath out, your 95 is this one. Not protecting others, it protects you.
If you want both ways it is 2 seperate filters usually. and we ar talking gear used in treatment of ebola patients here.
JSB it is not about my freedom. Im going to be wearing one 8 hours a day when the holiday is over in little over month and I go work with elders in hospital. It is about the fact that forcing people wearing one is not all ways necessary. If country reacts quick enough distancing and hand hygiene is usually enough. And masks on people are health risk.
People wearing masks in some states of us to bend the curve little more? Go for it! People wearing masks in those states/countrys trying to tell others in different states and places that they must do the same because it is the magical bullet
Common sense goes far a way a head using mask. Use gloves outside. Good hand hygiene, social distancing, Eat your c and d and zinc, proper diet, exercise, get your immune system running again. Spend time outdoors! fresh air and sun! If you are obese now is frigging good time to fix it. Metabolic syndrome being one of the top factors for bad time. Im going to isolate 2 weeks before going to work. Works much better than going in public with mask even though my country just lifted the restrictions and opened bars for example.

Stop obsessing about what you know about medical masks. It’s limiting your understanding. We aren’t talking about them.
the face coverings the public wear is to block their exhaled breath from blowing into other people’s faces. I’m sorry you don’t seem to get it, but that’s what they do.

I’m almost surprised that a community that uses flowhoods can be so divided on this issue.

If you wear a surgical glove during masturbation its like getting jacked off by a RN.
Gloves have their merit but masks are important. Gotta keep the covid in.

I never wear a mask when I work in front of my hood
Predictable air currents and direction pretty much make masks useless in the flow

I meant to illustrate that those who use flowhoods are more likely have at least a basic understanding of the physics of particles/spores/pathogens etc flying around & might be able to see how uncontrolled flow could be harmful - Hence why hoods are used at all - keep that shut out of work area.
and that, in terms of hindering the transmission, masks are better than nothing.
You can’t put a blanket over your flowhood and tell me it makes no difference

Sounds silly, but there are gonna be a lot of young people with no pre-existing conditions who are still going to have to cope with possibly life long repercussions from this.
Honestly that’s what worries me the most. I’m not afraid of death..... when I go, it’s everyone that’s left behind that will suffer.....and that sucks. But I’ll be gone. The notion of having to live out my days with impaired lung function & ability is far more scary for me. I’m a super fit dude, and that fitness is my number 1 way of handling stress, anxiety, depression, etc.... losing that, and still having trudge my way through life for years? No thanks

Nearly 10,000 cases in Florida today.
Fuck them. The northeast just needs to ban anyone from the south and west until they get their shit together. This is their own faults. Don’t wear a mask. Die. The world will be a better place the more southern dumbfcks die.

Koods your understanding about how protective gear works is based on what?
Your understanding how this virus spreads is based on what?
Most of infections happened inside the walls of private houses in china. When you are with your family and you let your guard down after being stressed whole day on public/job.
I said you cannot spit through them? Missed that point? Just saying there is more effective methods against corona, social distancing being one, hand hygiene other.
Other thing that you dont seem to understand is that im not living in hotspot. Why Should I take act like im in one? Finland actually did the job this time good enough. What was different to sweden: quick response. good hand hygiene and social distancing. If you do all these in most of places you dont need one. Keeping public transportation like metro running city like nyc is just plain dum. Should have been closed when first implications that corona is in us soil came up.

nyc is huge and practically no one there has a car - certainly not a lot of the essential workers that kept the city fed and stuff, I don't think it would be even remotely possible. People still need to use public transportation to get to hospitals.

koods please leave the hatred and death wishes out of this forum. As an ex-staffer I would think you would know better than this.
This thread has become too full of frequent vitriol and reckless, harmful/harm-inciting speech and this stuff needs to stop.
Words like yours above are to be met with stricter enforcement going forwards, so I'm leaving this here as a warning.
