Palm Beach County residents to receive masks by mail
Quote:
A package of masks — two cloth and two disposable — will be sent to each residence in the county starting in July, paid for with federal dollars.
“We want to make sure that every member of this community, no matter where you live, has access to the personal protective equipment that is needed to keep yourself safe and members of the public and community at large safe,” County Mayor Dave Kerner said Friday at a news conference.
The public address came one day after Palm Beach County’s mandatory mask order went into effect and on the same day that the county and the state each saw the largest, single one-day increase in new coronavirus cases.
The virus’ spread is worse today than when the county reopened, Palm Beach County Health Director Dr. Alina Alonso said.
Pointing out that the percentage of test-takers found to be positive for the virus is rising, she dismissed the notion that the growing number of cases could be blamed on more testing.
“If it was just more testing, those numbers (the positivity rates) would continue to go down,” she said.
Quote:
State Attorney Dave Aronberg wasn’t buying the opponents’ argument, saying the county was well within its right to mandate masks.
“Your liberty to swing your fist ends where another person’s nose begins,” he said. “Wearing a mask is intended obviously to protect yourself, but really to protect others from your germs.”

Ugh why do we have to repeat this over and over. It’s not that difficult. Masks prevent virus from being carried on a high velocity stream of air from your face. If you don’t understand this, put on a mask and try to blow out a candle. It’s a windbreaker.
But it doesn’t really mater if you don’t understand the functionality. They work. States that have mandated masks are seeing much less spread. Just wear a mask. Grow up.

if you are talking about type 2 there is a few bandaids, pick up an aggressive fasting schedule like 40:8 and your blood sugar will lower to the point of not needing insulin, or a strict diet can drop your need for insulin too, either low carb high fat(keto) or high carb low fat (guidelines), you can never mix carbs and fat again, if you go the diet route, thats why I rather do the fasting

"On Thursday, Alberta’s top doctor said there’s a high chance the virus is spreading through areas commonly touched: places like elevator buttons, mailboxes or door handles.
It does seem that possibly high-touch surfaces are a mechanism,” Dr. Deena Hinshaw said. “This outbreak is a reminder that indoor areas pose unique risks of transmitting and this virus can spread easily from one person to many if given the opportunity.”

I thought it was difficult to spread from surfaces? I could see it happening to one or two folks - but an entire building?? That's got to be ventilation.

That was worded poorly, do not have diabetes that shows up in any testing or anything just have a family history of it hitting young but am also like 150-200 pounds lighter than my dad was at my age and keep up a decent diet
just, as a result of taking so many other precautions if my family members bringing back Covid from an out of province trip ends up with me needing to treat diabetes for the rest of my life rather than "just" the long-known risk of Covid causing permanent lung damage the two outcomes would upset me just as much

Koods your area of experty seems quite a fuckin large you know? Like every subject brought up in shroomery you know exactly how it goes.
You know in Finland no masks for most of people. 327 deaths yesterdays count, the whole frigging epidemia 327 deaths total. No mandatory mask. Just social distancing and good hand hygiene.
I´m training as nurse at the moment. Had to go to school during lockdown (schools were closed in Finland, They got special permit to teach us some things in lab before we go working with elders. Our teachers are professionals that all have worked on the field) The things that were used was good hand hygiene. You were escorted from outside the building to the lab. Doors opened to you so no contact to surfaces. Directly to wash and then disinfect hands. No mask required. And I was in physical contact with others because the things we did. Like injecting and lifting
You are really telling me that you know these things better than the professionals?
As far as masks go, Asked about the cotton masks. They are mostly to keep you from touching your face and keep your mind in peace. Ok you cannot spit through them but thinking that coughing through them is safe for others is just plain delusional.

Considering every public health official is pleading with people to wear masks, that question is best directed at you.

Look at Texas. Mask required. It sucks but, mask required.
This disease has a high infection rate.
Social distancing lowers that infection rate.
Social distahncing PLUS MASKS lowers that infection rate even further.
If the infection rate gets below 1 the fire of infection rapidly burns itself out.
Basic applied medicine.

masks stop you from spitting on people, early on in the outbreak Trudeau used the term "breathing moistly" and I thought that was funny

Sorry.
This is why their COVID curve is like that of an African country, no offense to developing nations.
African nations dont have the physical means to quench the pandemic.
The US has a piece of elephant dung for president who doesnt believe in climate change OR COVID.

Most efficient way to handle this. Look this up if you dont beliwe me. Is quick response with social distancing and hand hygiene.
We have really good test field here when we compare Sweden and Finland.
Sweden: Business as usual
Finland: social distancing, closing public services like restaurants, schools and librarys for example. Good hand hygiene.
Results: Finland 5.9 per 100 000 people Sweden 50.4 deaths per 100 000 people
You are really trying to tell me that results cannot be gotten with these two technics? Social distancing and hand hygiene.
Can we get some effect with cotton masks? Yes. As I said you cannot spit through it, Gough particles through it? hell yeah.
If society reacts quick enough basic hand hygiene and social distancing go far away. If you want to blame someone on the situation on america please blame your goverment for slowing down and not taking things serious when they should have been taken. Not those people who are not wearing masks.
BTW forcing elders wear masks at these temps is health risk for them. In Finland we isolate them, not force them wear masks.
But hey koods you seem to know this better anyway.

Asante the time you can wear a surgeons mask before it gets glogged with humidity and does not filter proberly anymore aka not suitable for sterile enviroment aka time after it is not guaranteed that you dont spread germs to the patients is 20 minutes.
20 minutes.
Most people dont even wear them proberly, like nose out of them?
Sorry guys but mask is not the most effective thing against corona unless you got your self a proper one with proper filters.

That's not even the worst of it....
Of course, the coronavirus pandemic may complicate Miami-Dade’s West Nile problem
Quote:
Also Friday, the state announced 10 cases of dengue fever in Monroe County, home to the Florida Keys.
While both are spread by mosquitoes, dengue tends to cause more serious flu-like symptoms while most people with West Nile don’t feel sick. Miami-Dade had a dengue cluster at the end of 2019, but West Nile is the bigger concern for the mosquito division in June, spraying for adult mosquitoes and larva.
“We’re working flat out,” Petrie said. “We’ve got as many trucks out as much as we can, seven nights a week.”
He sees the coronavirus as a potential factor in the West Nile spike, because the economic measures and safety precautions to fight the spread have disrupted daily lives so severely.
“People have been home for the past three months,” he said. “Out in the backyard more often perhaps. On the balcony. It’s speculation on my part. That could be playing into it.”
Florida is hell West Nile, Dengue Fever, AND COVID.
