A group of 1000 random Canadians and Americans. One group is always going to look more sloppy.
Yes Canadians definitely live four years longer than American because they look less sloppy. I’ve lived in both countries. Canada is full of rednecks. The ones in Quebec speak French but they’re still rednecks. They’re still overweight and smoke too much.
But overall health includes effectively treating comorbidities and preventing them, which is something “socialist” healthcare systems do far better than we do in the US. So yeah, Canadians are healthier but that’s because of their system.

I wonder if, oh just forget about it.
So you don’t think the vaccine should go first to those at most risk of serious illness?
Would you be aggrieved if people with type A blood were ahead of those with type O?

Texas is closing their bars back down starting immediately. Restaurants going back to limited capacity. Still no mask mandate.

We're in phase 3 of reopening and the 2 metro hubs of the state was like um... No.
They just asked for a 2nd 90 day extension that was granted. More than 6 months behind the rest of the state.
And with good reason. It doesn't look good. But I'm convinced alot of that is just the fact we have alot of poor and uneducated people and dumb kids. And being hubs that never shut down public transportation.
We're just going to keep trading it with our friends up in the DC/NE area.
I live in metro hub 2. There a stark difference between the poor parts of town and the wealthier burbs.

Yes, elderly people are usually most at risk, not black people. Many black people refuse to follow safety guidelines, why should they be rewarded for that lack of responsibility?
Either way, Melinda Gates is a racist cunt.

The demographic that doesn’t care about safety measures is trumps base. They are the only group in this country that are actively refusing to care about the virus. And they are proud of it. BLM has been encouraging masks at protests and even have a testing center set up in DC for protesters.

In Holland, in the most affected areas, they separated the busdriver from the passengers with transparent plastic, the passengers had to get in the back of the bus and pay the machine there, and mouth masks are mandatory.
Thats riding the bus in The Netherlands now.
Apocalyptic.
Needless to say: Ain't getting on no bus these months.

restaurants are now open for full dine in service near me. There is no way to properly use a mask and eat inside in a restaurant. I won't go inside one that does dine in service(take out, yes, everyone wears masks and gets in and gets out), I stick to the outdoors these days for any kind of socialization or interaction(not that i've been getting a whole lot of that these days) unless it's unavoidable.
We're still in pretty good shape, but this was the one moment in reopening where I feel like cases are probably going to increase. Hopefully not too significantly. There is definitely a chunk of people ready to get back to normal, but most people seem to have a fairly healthy respect still and I don't forsee restaurants doing all that well without open air dining - heat lamps for the fall too. I'm picturing lots of patio dining and fire pits for sure.
I pretty much feel mostly safe around people in a mask or outside . I'm hoping that our nice peaceful lull here isn't coming to an end and that people stay somewhat restrained.

I'm guilty of dining in - obviously without a mask...but with the new surge I might think twice next time.

Yeah but at least they don't assfuck you with 5-6 figure bills for doing so right?
Look it may not be perfect here but anyone making minimum wage can go to the doctor get their birth control or checkups. I know people who have gotten in crashes with astonishing huge Medical bills. Yea 150,000 in bills seems crippling but you don't really have to pay it. You can make small monthly payments forever. Kind of small price to pay for having your life saved. The bills are only crippling if you make them crippling. Otherwise its just a number they hang over you. Oh yes but now you can't buy a home. Bullshit everyone i know that's my age and a homeowner is behind on medical bills. It's lame but we're all in the same boat anyway. People do just fine with medical bills. But they complain to their friends like its keeping them from being able to live while living it up.
In fact the more poor you are it becomes easier to use the emergency room in most cities.
