I think we should build a wall and politely ask the USA to pay for like half, like my neighbor and I went halfsies on a fence. We can keep the American Corona zombies out and you can protect the motherland from socialist ideas, win/win for both. I half expect American corona refugees to start showing up here
shits too cold for me. pass hehe

I'm thinking overall health has significantly more to do with Canadian's death rate being lower than their healthcare availability.
A group of 1000 random Canadians and Americans. One group is always going to look more sloppy.

I think that's the kind of incredibly myopic POV that only an American with a lack of wisdom and perspicacity would spout.
For every 1000 people, it is access to healthcare that defines their potential to survive long term, not the subtle mores based on their societal surroundings.
This is just another example of that 'yeah murica' POV; just a topsy turvy one.

National Coin Shortage Due To COVID
Quote:
"The COVID‐19 pandemic has significantly disrupted the supply chain and normal circulation patterns for U.S. coin," the statement said. "In the past few months, coin deposits from depository institutions to the Federal Reserve have declined significantly and the U.S. Mint’s production of coin also decreased due to measures put in place to protect its employees."
Someone on social media said there’s also an aluminum shortage....still working on finding information on that one. The link they posted was from, like....2005 no joke.

think that healthcare availability plays into Canadian's overall health
feel unwell? go to the doctor, get told to improve your diet/sleep schedule/get more exercise in the US feeling unwell is a panic over whether it is worth paying for the doctor to comment -- people respond a lot less well to paying to be told to lose weight
money is spent on public health messaging not just during a pandemic there was a good 6 month stretch where the metro stop for my university had a 20 foot wide advertisement warning about and telling people to get checked up for cystic fibrosis
Canada's health care system is not even that great on the global scale we just have the notability of being your neighbour

Wow, they getting that sloppy on the misinformation now?
Ever wonder if they almost want the misinformation to be that obviously misinformation?

I think you wanted to read what you thought I said so bad you think I was saying Americans are healthier than Canadians? There's nothing yeah murica about my post. Americans are in large part sloppy oafs if you compare them to the same random sample of Canadians

No, I absolutely don't think you were suggesting that; hence my saying it was a topsy turvy POV IMO, because it's unlike the usual 'murca is the greatest' sentiment.
HOWEVER; you seem to negate the fact that, due to the fact that the healthcare system here fucks people financially, it is not available to many.
Not having healthcare available is always going to be a much bigger factor than how generally healthy a population is.
Ergo, I feel you are missing the point, because you can't see outside of the perspective of murca.

Thanks for showing up, Uncle covid shedder.

this is my experience as well think this plays in to why so many European nations rank better than Canada healthcare is awesome, no complaints, but if you do not live in a heavily populated area some services are not immediately available
for me to get gender confirmation surgery would have to travel to Montréal due to living in Manitoba and the services not being available here my province is almost twice the size of Germany but with like 1/80th the population and no available MTF surgeons, while coverage for surgery in Germany allows trans individuals to choose among a number within a close-to-home travel time
but both countries provide coverage, so there is at least that small(enormous) blessing for anyone who cannot afford thousands in surgery

It is not like that in whole europe. In northern scandinavia for example(lapland of norway, sweden and Finland) You will have to wait for hours or days to police/ambulance.
During covid these countys or states asked that people from south would stay south because lack of emergency units/places. Like 2-3 places in state.

that is the case here as well, but frequently on a per-province basis so Northern Manitoba has had its own lockdown rules apart from Southern Manitoba because almost all of the Canadian population lives within a day's drive of the US border and more isolated communities live further north we have communities without running water and without access by road
outdated but the World Health Organization in 2000 had Canada ranked at 30 overall with the US coming in at 37 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Health_Organization_ranking_of_health_systems_in_2000

Facebook actually announced yesterday or today that they’d issue a warning if someone shares an article over 90 days old, kinda like how we do it here when you try to bump an old poast.
