Are we really on the other side of the curve, though? The case charts look more like a breadknife than a hill. There's some spikes of 30k+ cases in one day, but for the most part, it hasn't changed much from about 20k-28k per day.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
I haven't really been paying much attention to positive test #'s since there's been so many issues with testing, seems like hospitalizations and deaths are a much more accurate gauge. Looking at the "daily new death" chart we're definitely on the other side of the curve at 955 a day (per 3-day average) now vs 2460 at the peak, but the fact that things have opened weeks ago in some places means there's probably a whole lot of people out there still incubating and spreading it, so the death count at the moment probably isn't a good metric either.

I don't think anyone has hit 'green' yet - there are some counties with more cows then people that are coming close. Mask wearing is widespread indoors, and I have not seen a single business that doesn't have a policy requiring that people wear masks.
I think unfortunately things are really just ramping up elsewhere, though I know that the protests are gonna make cases tick up in states that are trending down too.
My province has been doing well, but still has the occasional case pop up despite that, there have been protestors out complaining that we are reopening too slowly https://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/unjustifiable-protesters-demand-immediate-end-to-manitoba-s-covid-19-lockdown-1.4961832
it is kind of surreal in the first place, but in light of all the other protests going on across North America it seems out of place, to say the least

Here in Georgia, USA we have been completely open for a month now. There has not been any spikes or death increases. It is still on the downward trend. This whole virus was completely overblown. Our hospitals are empty and maybe 30 people die a day here. Everyone needs to open back up.

lol quite frankly I wouldn't trust Georgia's handling of data at all.
https://www.ajc.com/news/state--regional-govt--politics/just-cuckoo-state-latest-data-mishap-causes-critics-cry-foul/182PpUvUX9XEF8vO11NVGO/
An estimated total of 6% of my state has been infected. We've had 5500 deaths so far. That does not bode super well for a significant chunk of the population.
I don't think that we should be under full lockdown, especially because open air environments are pretty safe provided you're either practicing social distancing or wearing a mask in a crowded environment. How safe it is, we're about to find out with these protests in another week or so. There is a way to keep society running safely running at a slightly diminished capacity so that we don't overwhelm our hospitals. Especially a lot of those rural hospitals with 0 ICU beds. If you ever take a look at the fluctuating level of ICU beds in your county sometime maybe you'll understand why it's so important to actually try and delay the inevitable in this case.
Anyway, different topic, TIME threw together a pretty cool little simulation to analyze patterns of social distancing on beaches.

Things were reopening and getting back to normal in the capital of NC...but now, due to the protests/rioting/looting, there is a curfew from 8:00pm - 5:00am. Can’t travel outside or into the city during that time, nor be outside, minus a dispensation for certain workers etc. It’s being enforced and the fines are heavy. Damnit. This sucks more than covid.

How so very convenient that when things are reopening, they enact a curfew.

Not sure what you’re talking about. Georgia has one of the largest increases in cases of the past week. Yesterday you had almost as many as New York

Georgia is also actively suppressing death counts
Hospital cases are surging too. Where do you get your info dude? Lol it’s almost like you made up your post. Literally everything you posted is not true

Cases haven’t gone down at all. They were going down but now you’ve flatlined. That’s why Georgia is now seventh in new cases. Hospitalizations are up.
Georgia is heading toward being one of the worst hit states. Youre about to pass New York for virus activity. Not doing well under your shitty governor.

Hold up. Things were still pretty much shut down until yesterday. No bars. 25% capacity at restaurants.
Why come in this thread and lie?
Business activity is a fraction of what it was and your state is still turning into one of the worst while other states have decreasing cases you are treating water.
Pathetic
