We also prove it daily in the hospital. We have had dozens of covid19 patients in the last few weeks and only 4 staff that i know of catch it and two of those were in the beginning before they opened a specific unit got the triaging process ironed out. One guy had come into the ed for something totally unrelated to covid and had they found our he had it and like 15 people got exposed no ppe.
If ppe didnt work when used properly every single staff member would have contracted it already. No, the ppe you use at home isnt as good as the stuff in the hospital, but yes it is better than doing nothing at all

funny how people on the cruise shit weren't wearing masks and said the same shit. Like only one family member getting it when everyone was in the same room type stuff. Are you sure they didn't catch it and are asymptomatic and/or undetectable

Again .03 micron virus. Computationally model the fluid dynamics in an accurate way that and proves it then or something. All I'm saying is im skeptical.
The numbers are proving it. I did post a video earlier in the thread demonstrating it a bit. But simply the fact that the r0 is over 5 and more people aren't getting it. The fact that cases are drastically declining in states where people are consistently wearing masks and taking basic social distancing cautions proves that this method is working. Is it the answer to everything? No, but it's a start, and it's a way to open certain things in certain areas up in a way that is manageable. In a way that doesn't overwhelm hospitals and infrastructure with a huge wave of sick and dying people. Which even a relatively low cfr can produce in a virus that is this contagious.

Did you look at the stats on how many people ended up catching it? They were insanely high from what i recall
I actually suspect that there are non mask things an individual can do to protect oneself from respiratory infections. I dont have the data to prove it though and i am not gonna bother trying to convince anyone of something i dont even know for certain myself. It would only add fuel to the antimask crowd anyway, most of whom, by the way, dont behave in those other ways i suspect help to prevent contracting respiratory illnesses. What i do know is that when used correctly masks work. We put them on patients, we wear them, almost nobody gets it. Meanwhile one person goes to choir practice and nobody is wearing one and 2/3 of the people get it. It is not conplicated

Having a "petri dish" on your face doesnt matter whether you are sick or you arent  either way you are in the same boat. At least if you have a mask on, the air and then someone elses lungs dont become petri dishes

Lmao what? Youre saying surgeons put on masks for show?  the only reason a hospital would ever foot the bill for a supply is because it has been demonstrated to reduce costs or generate revenue, in this case, preventing sepsis and paying out lawsuit money. The use of surgical masks to prevent infection is one the most basic concepts in medicine. are you even attempting to think?

like I can show u some my masks from other days theyre so fucking dirty after like 2 seconds. I'm constantly touching stuff then putting the mask on my face and despite constantly sanitizing my hands I'm not convinced putting shit on my face helps at all.

KN95s are available on ebay, with free shipping.
I ordered 2 Tues. night for back-up, they did ship free, and I got them today before lunch.
They shipped from Delaware but are made in China as pretty much everything is today.

Just an fyi: my state ordered a bunch of KN95's. A whole lot tested as less protective than just tying a shirt or bandana around your face. Most are counterfeit right now.
I ordered some K95's that Ythan linked a month or so ago, but only actually use them worn under another mask if I'm concerned with prevention in a certain envrironment.
They are likely not even close to a legit n95 if you"ve purchased recently, unfortunately.

Except that respirators do nothing to protect people around you. They protect
the wearer, but if you're an asymptomatic transmitter then respirators do
nothing to help stop you from spreading it to others unless you put tape or something
over the exhale exhaust.
