Dude
I would be horrified at work.
The last couple days before the shutdown I was petrified. I don’t know how you do it in healthcare.
Having it hard at work is tough too.
I mean I like not working I just wish some of the money would come in. I’m kind of thinking the unemployment funds may have been misappropriated in Florida and just might not ever come.
Idk though
Don’t know how any of this is going to turn out. It’s pretty hard to imagine an optimistic outcome at this point but you never know v
Frankly my life wasn’t that great pre-covid either so
Also I like that things have stalled. The world needed to slow the fuck down anyway.
I always think I’m ready to die until it really feels like death is knocking then suddenly I’m scared af

When you have 14% of the population working for the medical center, virtually everyone is close to someone who works in medicine, so public outcry here has been relatively minimal, and reaction got started relatively soon.
On the other hand you have places where most people don't personally know someone that works in medicine, and it's easy to take an "Us vs. Them" mentality in that situation.
It's truly mindblowing to me that anyone could seriously believe that every single medical worker is somehow complicit, whether intentionally or through ignorance, with some new world order scheme. The logistics alone are mind-boggling.
What's even more mindblowing is apparently Bill Gates is some sort of mastermind behind this scheme. I guess the idea that a rich man would want to use his money to help people is just too hard to believe in this day and age.
too many people are in panic mode, trying to find someone to blame this on just so that they feel they understand what's going on. Gates is the only guy I know that warned us a pandemic was likely to happen at some point, let's burn him at the stake!

I think the group here (for the most part) trends towards creative thinkers and at least moderate intelligence or better.
That's just not the norm in the world.
Millions of people can watch a single somewhat convincing youtube conspiracy video about 5G, Bill Gates, flat earth, whatever... and they're automatically sold on it for life and no amount of facts and debunking will sway them. They'll even commit faith-based jihad (like burning cell towers, shooting up pizza parlors, storming your capital building with assault rifles) to right the perceived wrong.
It's a high to feel like you're in on some secret knowledge, like you know something other people don't know. Many of these people have bumbled through life not knowing a whole lot about anything really, so it's especially enticing.
Add to it the anger factor that any good conspiracy video will integrate. It sets you up to have a common enemy, a "them", and then a team of fellow truthers to join, an "us".
It's a little scary, but not much more so than seeing the crowds of thousands at a Kenneth Copeland mass. People are straight up fucking insane, we should all value and appreciate the sane ones in our lives.

There are conspiracies everywhere.
I'm referring to the endless amount of conspiracy theories that still exist and spread like wildfire despite having no credible evidence, having plenty of counter-evidence, and being spread by people with the sketchiest of backgrounds and clear agendas.
People falling down these rabbit holes are no longer searching for facts, they want to believe so they view all evidence through a deliberately tainted lens. In many cases there are many similarities to cults and religion... but the high, the escape, and the simplification of a complex reality comes through their tunnel vision of perceived "knowledge" instead of some god.

Oh interesting
Idk why someone would want to believe some of the shit i hear
A bit horrifying to me if some of this shit is going on
But i gueas ive seen some humans do some pretty fucked up shit, so who knows what people are doing with their power, or what agendas they may be spreading
I had an old coworker who use to always hit me with the craziest conspiracies with no shred of proof. Like flat earth and other annoying shit. Can be a bit annoying

Of course people on the "front lines" (this isn't really anything like a war) have horrific reports that don't mesh with everyone else's view. It is selection bias. Police deal with crime all day, so from their view it could seem like the world is populated entirely with criminals, while most people would view criminals as an extreme minority.
As for people being wrong about hospital and other medical layoffs... this isn't some Internet rumor. I know people in real life that were laid off (hopefully to be soon rehired, I guess they call it furlough in many cases).

I truly wish people would get behind the real conspiracies.
The fact that (in the US at least) we have corporate lobbyists who literally write our laws, enriching themselves and the executives, promising future campaign contributions and multi-million dollar lobbyist positions to their puppet congressmen upon leaving office, while the rest of us pay higher taxes, see no wage increases but drastically higher costs of living, live in an increasingly polluted and toxic environment, etc. simply to keep their rigged circle jerk going.
I have no idea how people choose a round earth to get mad at instead of something that directly affects almost everyone's day to day life, and is in plain and documented by our own government.

That's not really a conspiracy though, it's pretty open and cut and dry.
The feds told hospitals to push back all elective and non-essentials, and then did not provide the financial relief needed to compensate for the lack of income or ensure jobs were protected. COVID patients will not keep a hospital running.
As I said earlier, what would've made more sense was increased testing, triaging non-critical COVID patients to field hospitals or separate wings and keeping open portions of the hospitals for non-elective and non-essential exams/tests/treatments, testing all staff on the non-COVID wing and each new patient daily, with a sterilization and rotation protocol for any supplies coming in the door. Wouldn't be 100% perfect, but would've saved hospitals hundreds of millions and kept people working, with likely a fairly negligible risk increase if done correctly. That's what is slowly happening now with phased reopenings

Well if you want a government of the people, by the people, and for the people all you need to do is define corporations as people.

there are actually people in this world who just make up facts like this on the fly because it helps them feel better about all the other things they said and believed recently
More and more evidence showing the disease "ran rampant" for like 2 months before we even picked up on it.

I saw some videos with doctors etc saying isolation isnt normal protocol and lowers our immune system to where when we re-enter society we are exposed to all these viruses with a weakended immune system due to isolation. Not true?
Also read or heard idr, countries didnt enact social restrictions and they had a flatter curve sooner with no second wave.
Maybe not true, idk.
Also heard something about effectice cheap methods for dealing with the virus were banned while the vaccine agenda was being pushed. Maybe false?
And of course the rumors this is all an agenda to push stronger measures for controlling our society. Again, maybe all this is false.

Which means this virus is far less dangerous than media makes us believe.

You watched the erickson video. As did everyone else who lacks a medical education. Now i have to deal woth having 5 conversations a day with people who think they are fucking doctors because they watched a youtube video. The video was debunked within hours but people who wanna believe them wont bother reading the counter arguments, they will just go with confirmation bias

No idea who Erickson is. It doesn't change the fact that there are millions of people who have been infected with this virus without even knowing it.
