It is already a problem and a big thing in many places.
And just because we don't know how this is going to end doesn't mean it isn't worth preparing for as best we can and taking steps to shield the most vulnerable.
Those steps to shield the most vulnerable include the hand washing and protective items, etc. It is not the cure but rather damage control.

Will you thank me for the early warning ar the point the millionth person dies from this?
Quote:
We dont have enough info. China is not giving us a lot of info.
We don't need China. Iran and Italy just got it, lets see how they are doing:
Quote:
Iran Confirmed: 978 Deaths: 54 Recovered: 175 Existing: 749
Italy Confirmed: 1.694 Deaths: 34 Recovered: 83 Existing: 1.577
Hey now, wait a minute.. Didnt I reference these exact same countries 1 day and 8 hours ago? Yup:
Quote:
Asante said:
Iran Confirmed: 388 Deaths: 34 Recovered: 73 Existing: 281
Italy got it later, a first world country:
Italy Confirmed: 888 Deaths: 21 Recovered: 46 Existing: 821
So 1 day and 8 hours later Iran shot up from 388 to 978 cases (+250%) and Italy shot up from 888 confirmed cases to 1694 (+191%)
At this rate.. What would happen at this rate?
Uranium or plutonium turn 1 neutron into 2 or 3. The average COVID patient infects 4-7. Influenza patients infect 1.3 and its still pandemic.
This is going to steamroll right over us and cause millions of dead.
Our only shot is that spring knocks down the infection rates to minimize casualties while a vaccin is mass-produced or even better, that some well established drug seriously improves the odds for patients so we can just synth and roll out the pallets of pills.
If you look at Iran though. Compared to temperate climates its already spring there, and COVID rips right through em.

it's still not yet a huge problem and nobody knows if it will become one.
Many people are pretty damn sure its going to be a biggie.

Look man We had SARS deaths in Canada. I think they may have been the only deaths outside Asia if I'm not mistaken. We got over it.
people die of the common cold and the flu every single year. this is evidently worse than the cold, definitely in terms of lethality at least but that's not exactly saying much. and it is worrying that you can transmit the disease before showing symptoms and the patients who were infected from an unknown source are worrying.
I'm just saying it's too early to know how worried we should be.
You saw my post and instantly wanted to argue but I clearly said I am not saying you are wrong. I believe this could be a big problem.
people speaking with such absolute certainty on either side are jumping the gun.
I'm saying it could go either way so there is no need to argue.
we all knew Iran and Italy had problems. you cant take credit for discovering that lol.

Read my post.
I specifically said we should be prepared for this to be a big thing.
You guys are jumping to conclusions so fast you cant even fully read and comprehend my post before responding. just wait and see before speaking with such certainty, alls I'm saying.
Lol did I say people shouldn't wash their hands?

Great article comparing the common flu to the coronavirus: https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/how-does-the-coronavirus-compare-with-the-flu/ar-BB10ziK0?ocid=spartandhp
Really like this quote:
Quote:
Most cases of coronavirus infection are not severe, but some people do become quite sick. Data from the largest study of patients to date, conducted in China, suggests that of coronavirus patients receiving medical attention, 80 percent had mild infections, about 15 percent had severe illnesses, and 5 percent were critical.

Thinking your username might live up to it's name. It is logic against chaos but at these extremes.
Will be interesting how this unfolds. Watched Maher and made me laugh. You have to have a sense of humor about life mixed with facts and reality to have a meaningful life in my opinion.
Now ban me.

You don't have all the facts.
Its more lethal than the flu There is more serious illness than the flu There are infectious people without much or any symptoms its several TIMES more contagious than pandemic flu It seems to do well also in countries without winter conditions.
ADD THOSE UP.

My girlfriend is super freaked out by this and wants me to go buy "supplys" today. I joked about buying a truck load of beer and rolling papers, she was not impressed.
How bad do you guys think this will get?

With what I've been saying, you can take it seriously in the sense that you can rest assured that I mean what I say.
Its more lethal than the flu There is more serious illness than the flu There are infectious people without much or any symptoms its several TIMES more contagious than pandemic flu It seems to do well also in countries without winter conditions.
Look at the information thats out there. It takes an act of God for this not to become an epic drama.

I hope the world governments didnt agree on some sort of population control and used the china story for cover.
China would be at the top of the list to use virus to control the world populations.
