If you truly believe that most industries are highly regulated, please explain why environmental regulations were recently dropped or why most corporations own their own senator.
The White House response has been "Kick it to the States to handle". In this case, they've been extremely hands off. Trump said yesterday the States are on their own for testing, they've come in and bought the PPE away from the individual states while telling them to fend for themselves.

This is what I said. The government acts on the will of those in power. Corporations merely paid to have regulations removed where it suits them. If they felt threatened by competition they would lobby to have regulation applied that would only hurt their competitors. And many industries have lots of regulation. The government is far from hands-off.

No they haven't. You even say why. They took lots of action by seizing all the PPE, sending millions of dollars to corporations and the wealthy. THere are more options than the government does nothing or controls absolutely everything. In the government truly did absolutely nothing there wouldn't really be a government. And it would take a borg-like entity for the government to control absolutely everything.

I get the feeling it's going to be trillions of dollars wasted, millions of jobs lost, and that will be in addition to the full health and economic effects of the virus spreading anyway when we fail to control it while trying to open economy back up.

And? You made sure to remove the rest which elaborated on that. And you ignore everything related to your points.
That one section of an industry can pay the government to remove a certain set of regulations does not make it a "hands off" government.

It seems pretty inescapable we will be dealing with this situation for the rest of the year.

I'm not ignoring anything, your logic doesn't make any sense. First you say the government heavily regulates industries, then you say they have all the power.
Which is it? Are they helpless or making the rules?
As far as your other point, again, your logic doesn't add up. Trump himself yesterday said the States are on their own and throughout this whole crisis, that's been his stance. They've outbid the States to build their own supply, which, golden boy Kushner said was "our stockpile, not for the States. They're on their own."
Which is it? Are the Feds coming in and taking over MUCH to the demand of the States, or have they been like "Yeah, you deal with it?"

I'm doing my part but goddamn is it frustrating to see people walking around with their masks down below their noses. Like, what the fuck, people. America sucks. Some lady was walking around at the store today looking scared with an N95 mask with the metal part at the bridge of her nose completely un-squished. Doing absolutely nothing.
Are we all this fucking stupid/ignorant? Google exists, goddamnit. There's no excuse to not know how to wear a fucking mask. There's no excuse to not know that just covering your mouth with your mask and leaving your nose exposed is fucking pointless. Fuck.

Why didn’t you just point that out to her? Would have been kind of you, and the world would be a better place for such a simple act.
