I haven't been to many stores since the lockdown here but noticed from ones I did visist, they have "stand here" stickers on the floor where you line up, to force you to stay 6 feet apart, and all the cashiers have plexiglass barriers from the customer

Yep same here. One grocery store (heck all of them may be doing it by now) I went to, they were only letting in max 20% of the store's capacity. When one customer would exit, then one could go in. You had to wait in line. There's been talk of one way aisles so people don't cross by each other. I also saw (and used) the stand here stickers. One of the gas stations I get coffee at had a sign on the door that said "only 10 at a time". It's a very big gas station too.
It will undoubtedly be different. Restaurants will come back but the tables & seating will probably be cut in half. At least for a while. That way tables are further apart. I don't know what it means for bars...man they are in trouble. And They may be playing professional sports on TV with no fans for quite a while. I can't imagine that anytime in 2020 that they'll allow 80,000-ish fans altogether packed in an arena like that.

We've got stickers on the floors of stores around here and the aisles are marked with one-way arrows so people are supposed to follow each other in a line instead of crossing paths but a lot of people don't seem to pay attention. I'll wait and hang back if someone is in the way but a lot of people (mostly ones not wearing masks) will come grab something off the shelf right next to you or walk the aisle the wrong way.
I haven't been to a store without a mask in a month. At first people would shoot me shitty looks (as if to say how dare I be cautious or protect myself and others) and only about 1% wore them, then it went to maybe 10%, and now it seems like half are.
Is anyone hearing any more stories about people coughing on people anymore? I know there were a few arrests made a while ago. I know of a couple in their 60s or 70s that were wearing masks before many people were and a woman came up and coughed on their cart and walked off. They didn't know or think to do anything about it at the time.

Even the two local convenience stores have these now. I can't understand though why the Gov'ment in the UK are still allowing jogging. WTF. I don't want some cunt running passed me breathing heavilly from the depths of their lungs. If you wan't to keep fit you can jog on the spot at home without potentially contaminating everyone you jog pass you ignorant cunts!

I've heard on NPR that some ball players were willing to all live together in quarantine and play games to empty stadiums so they could be televised but owners aren't willing to pay their salaries because about half of the owners' revenue comes from ticket sales and money spent at the stadium.

Most of the bodegas in my area have had thick glass panes enclosing the cashiers since I've lived here. As awful as Florida can be, the bodegas have always been prepared for a pandemic.

Yeah there was talk that Major League Baseball was going to bring the entire league to Arizona and play out the season at small spring training ballparks (Arizona has a bunch of them). But the thing is, if there's no season then the owners get nothing. Because then in addition to the ticket revenue, they won't get the television money either.

Some college aged girl here in Dallas made put out a video on social media saying how she hated the world and she had covid-19 and was going to infect as many people as she could with it.
They put her face all over the news lol so she turned herself in and then claimed it was an April Fool's joke.
Well it;s going to be a pretty expensive April Fool's joke I can tell you that much.

I've thought for a long time that we completely have it backwards with the way people idolize sports stars and pay them so much money when we should've been looking up to people that actually make a difference in the world like scientists.
I actually really like that sports are shut down and people can't obsess over it. I follow ZERO sports and find it to be a massive distraction and waste of resources to give people that can hit or throw a fucking ball better than others so much money and adoration.
Maybe at some point in all this, we'll get some stories of scientists or doctors that make incredible breakthroughs and they can be given the kind of bonuses and respect that we show athletes.

I'm a pretty big sports fan (not nearly as much as I once was though) but I 100% agree that the money (and fame/recognition) they make is absolutely absurd beyond comprehension.
That said, same can be said for actors & actresses.
Both sports & television/movies are just stages for entertainment. It just blows my mind how some actors and actresses these days can command over a million dollars per episode for a fucking sitcom. That is amazing.

Wow...
By the way just putting out a video is one thing, and can still I'm sure get you in quite a bit of trouble these days, but if I recall the story correctly this girl was like walking into a walmart or something and live streaming how she was about to go in there and cough on people as much as she can.
That's what really set things off. I mean they legit had an ongoing hunt for her.

Agreed, same goes for actors/actresses. We place way too high of a value on all the wrong things in this world and too much reward goes to those who aren't really doing any good for us a whole
TBH I've hoped for something to come along that would make us re-evaluate priorities for a long time. Something that would allow us to focus on what's more important and remove these distractions. It's just too bad that it takes something like a pandemic to get us to remove those distractions.

Is it just me, or are the number of mass shootings in the US down this year? Maybe all the 'humanderists' (or whatever the word is) as apposed to Misandrists and misogynists, are sitting back and enjoying this time. Maybe they are hoping to become asymtomatic carriers so that they can spread it far and wide.
