I went to the clinic for an appointment. The guy in line 2 meters in front of me had COVID19 symptoms and was told to go back to his car and touch nothing.
I was told my doctor would call me instead.
About 8,000 cases in my city and it's officially at my doorstep

"Recovery" isn't really the right word for this shit. For a lot of people, "Victim" would be more appropriate.
These people had it. And survived it. That's a good thing.
I will continue to post the recovery numbers. For those who are bothered by that and only want to see the confirmed cases and fatality statistics then by all means feel free to use the ignore feature.
Until then I shall salute the survivors

I agree that it's great celebrate people who make it through, but it's also important for people to realize that simply not being dead doesn't mean that having this thing can't completely upend or ruin your life. That's something that almost no one is actually talking about.
When the one current (albeit likely temporary) solution that the actual experts have for this is to socially distance yourself, and there's a large percentage of people who still believe it's a hoax and are refusing to do so, focusing on the positive is not really the approach for anyone concerned with harm reduction.
It'd be similar to talking about how many people use heroin without dying from overdose, while there's an opiate epidemic going on. Sure you can celebrate that I guess, but you can also come to the conclusion that highlighting "positives" gives people more incentive to be less cautious, and the consequences are real and severe.
I completely see where you're coming from and normally I'm all for positivity, but I also see the potential for one person's ignorance on this topic to kill other people who are actually taking the very many consequences of this thing seriously.

Did you go for COVID symptoms?
Here they have signs on the doors of ER's and urgent care's saying call your PCP or 211 if you have COVID symptoms, or call 911 if you can't breathe. They're not letting anyone with a fever or a cough in the door

I don't give a shit about Democrats or Republicans, they are all useless.
And, sure, there's somewhat off topic stuff and tangents people go on and memes but he was aggressively off topic from post #1 just for the sake of trolling and then combative with anybody that said anything about it. I even agree with dude that Biden is a joke of a candidate, comedically so even, but how is that relevant to this at all?

I think the vast majority here understand the severity and seriousness of what's going on. I don't think me posting something actually positive is going to cause anyone here to say "well shoot I guess everything is cool now" and then go out and start rubbing up on people.
We already got enough people in this thread who are super eager to announce daily death statistics. That's more than covered. And if anyone needs more of that for their fix they can go to any one of the national or local news channels. There's plenty where that came from. I'm pretty sure you know there's an infinite goldmine of the world is over and we're all fucking dead news out there.
Lol it almost feels like it's frowned upon to celebrate the ones who unfortunately got this and beat it.
By the way I still luv ya feevers and I do know where you're coming from

We need to keep the statistics related to COVID19 in the thread related to COVID19. Doing otherwise makes no sense. The statistics are super important and are the key for finding our way forward through this pandemic.

Luv ya too man, and I hear you
I just know one person who's been hit by this hard and bounced back, and to say she "beat" it when she may likely lose her house and her business, and be crippled by medical debt for the rest of her life, with possible long term health issues.... I don't think she considers herself recovered.

I know man, I can't even imagine. That's awful. It's obviously horrific what's going out there. It's just unimaginable and so surreal.

Bottom line: the mayor of my city listened to the health officials. The top health officials in the world live and work in my city. The mayor had the humility to believe the medical professionals who said a major problem was on the horizon even when Texas had fewer than 100 cases. The mayor shut down bars, clubs, gyms, etc in early March.

No symptoms for me. I had testicular pain alongside lower back pain. It could have been a hernia or kidney stones, but it turns out it's because of the lower back pain that extends beyond the local pain. TMI wednesday

Thanks man, she's still feeling it but a whole lot better.
It hit home for me because she's only a year older than me, no previous health issues. Getting texts that she couldn't get a breath down and was passing out trying to climb the stairs into her house... she probably wouldn't have even gone to the hospital if my wife didn't work for the top one in the state and convinced her to. They didn't go into detail, but the staff there said it was essential that she made it in when she did.
I'm just glad that, right now at least, her story seems to be the exception as far as people I know. Haven't heard of anyone here on the shroomery getting hospitalized, or any of my friends/classmates.
The statistics say 1 in 5 of 20-40 year olds will be hospitalized though, hopefully that ends up being a high estimate, but I have a feeling there's a lot more to come with this thing. At least hopefully the social distancing can make it so anyone who ends up needing the help can get it when the time comes.
