"Common cold" doesnt reaply mean shit except you have some kind of virus and we dont know which one cuz the symptoms arent bad enough to warrant figuring it out. Common cold is not infrequently a Coronavirus infection of some kind

Still funny to me people think they are protected with those masks. a quick google search would tell them they arent....
Yeah I think all the masks do is make people feel safer...even though in reality they aren't safer
Going back a little in the thread, but feel it's important to understand this...
The purpose of the mask is not to protect the wearer from the outside air.
They are worn so that when you breathe and cough, you're catching all your own microbes in the mask and not spreading them. Not to prevent sickness in the wearer, but to prevent sharing what the wearer may already have- which is important in this case because it seems people are spreading the coronavirus prior to experiencing symptoms.
Masks are really important to help contain these things me thinks. A sketchy fireline of sorts.
May have a placebo effect on the wearers that don't understand their purpose. That could actually be dangerous... Someone is infected and their relatives wear masks to take care of them falsely thinking the mask protects them...
In Chinese and other asian cultures I think they pretty well understand when and why to wear the masks though. Even when there isn't a large scale crisis like this going on, I understand it is viewed as considerate and polite to wear a mask in public if you just have a cold or something.
I've never been to Asia, just what I've gathered from reading and such- can anyone speak to this?

This, too!
Touch a dirty door knob then cover your mouth with your hand to cough... now your face full of paths into the body is covered in whatever was on the doorknob.
Great addition!

Masks have protection of others against you, and to a degree protect you from infections by others.
If everybody wears them, there are 2 barriers between the infected and the healthy.
Don't forget nitrile gloves.
Like Ballsalsa says:
Quote:

Gloves go with that.
A lot of flu/cold infections happen by touching something the infected touched recently, and ingesting that
Gloves and mask remind you that both touch and breathing are biohazards.

Awesome. Just wanted to clarify that the masks do more than provide false piece of mind to people and should absolutely be used when the situation calls for it.

You just can’t square what’s happening in these pix and videos with the data coming from China. There are a number of photos where more than one person is down on the ground in a single image. It’s hard to conclude that people dropping unconscious or dead on the streets isn’t widespread

Interesting. Best way to wipe out the overpopulated world is always a virus. Not war. Will be interesting how this progresses. Think it is a bit more serious than Severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus. Sars.
God help us all. Worry. Waste of time and emotion. What will be will be.
Hiking in the mountains today. It is enough for me. World and all those that plan this planet, fuck them.

That’s the mystery. I don’t think those are faked, but just passing out crossing the street doesn’t sound like a normal respiratory illness
In other news there’s an outbreak in a cruise ship with 3000 passengers that now have to be quarantined
24,000 cases 500 deaths

Latest news says it is more contagious than its cousin SARS but is less deadly.
Most of the people that haven't recovered and died were over 65 years old and 70% of them had pre-existing conditions.
More people have recovered than people have died.

492 dead, 859 recovered
This after more than a month.
People say "only 500 dead at 24000 cases" but what they fail to realize is how very few have recovered yet.
Recovery or death is an OUTCOME, so far we have only 1351 outcomes, of which 36.4% fatal. The prognosis is IMPROVING as doictors try every treatment and drug combi in the books, but so far, outcomewise, over 1 in 3 didnt make it.

Hey that looks like Denver everyday. Denver has more bodies throughout the streets and is not near as clean as those streets.
Can't be that bad.

The weed is too strong and the air too thin in Denver. They get back up eventually.

Yes. In Seattle, Denver, Portland, San Fran, and San Diego, their are massive homeless problems. Still to compare it to China where people still starve to death and they have the most millionaires and the most poor. Plus no freedom of media. Try getting on the Shroomery in China. Lol.
And God help you if you are ever arrested there. Might get to see a "judge" with a 99.5 percent conviction rate after a year in jail, BUT HEY! THAT IS JUST CHINA!

all Wuhan crematoria are burning bodies 24/7 to keep up with coronavirus workload
Theres a statement made that in Wuhan city, "about 100 body bags are needed each day" which points to a much greater infectlion and lethality rate than officially reported.

During the early outbreaks when the health cares/hospitals are overwhelmed they instructed the phone callers that it might be a regular cold, that its advised to self/home quarantined instead. It is said That the home mortality arent officialy recorded due to this.
