Not to be taken as a risk assessment though, since probably a million people had a sore throat and recovered probably from covid19

I just prepared a nice low-carb lasagna. Made entirely from products I stocked over a month ago, because Asante was way ahead of the curve on this one.
And when I shit it out, imma wipe with fancy four-layer TP that I also stocked well in advance
My partner thinks Im the best ever for being well prepared and has found new respect for what she calls my "online drug friends"
Thanks Asante! You the man!

It’s not a matter of space. It’s a matter of resources.

The UK has issued a travel warning for the United States
The fatality rate is higher than they're reporting. The figure that they've been reporting is fatal infections per total infections. The deaths per patients who either recovered or died is way higher (though I have no idea what direction that figure will move in as the pandemic evolves). That's also in spite of China sort of flubbing the numbers by reporting some deaths as being due to unrelated organ failures. The situation is way worse than anybody's been reporting, and the United States is probably going to be hit way harder than any other country. People are going to be dying in the streets in a few months, especially considering how many homeless people we have. That population is just going to fucking evaporate.
Note the date on the screenshot below, by the way.

That is simply not possible. We have a good idea what it looks like when a diverse community all get infected based on experiences with health care workers in Chinese hospitals. You keep thinking that a vast majority of people don’t get symptoms. That is not true. The death rate in hospital workers is .39% hospital workers are not 70-80 years old. They are fairly representative of the general population excluding children. One million cases would at a minimum equate to 4,000 deaths.
We should assume that the lowest possible case fatality rate is .3%-.4%
People also say covid 19 spares young people. So does the flu. Covid-19 death rate in 20 somethings is still 10x higher than the flu in the same age group.

What kind of bioweapon causes a minor illness in 80%of the population?

It doesn't. Young people are just less likely to die as a result of comorbidities (though that's not necessarily true in the US, since young people have the sort of conditions which make the infection so much more dangerous to elderly people) and they're characterizing pneumonia not requiring hospitalization as "mild." Even recovering from a serious bout you're still liable to be permanently disabled on account of the damage done to your internal organs (beyond the scarring in your lungs).

When you see stats saying 80% have a minor illness. This means 80% don’t need to be hospitalized or seek medical care. You are still likely to get pretty sick if infected.

There was likely an intermediate host between human and bat. They think pangolins are a possibility, but they aren't sure yet.
Quote:
So far, the closest match to the human coronavirus has been found in a bat in China’s Yunnan province. A study5 published on 3 February found that the bat coronavirus shared 96% of its genetic material with the virus that causes COVID-19. Bats could have passed the virus to humans, but there are key differences between the RBD sites in the two viruses. This suggests that this specific bat coronavirus did not directly infect people, but could have been transmitted to people through an intermediate host, say researchers.
