When shrooms have reduced effects on someone?
    #26443174 - 01/20/20 01:28 PM (4 years, 28 days ago)

Hey guys,

I wanted to ask if anyone could help me with something. My girlfriend has tripped with me on numerous occasions and not once has her trip been nearly as intense as mine. Her biggest dose has been 10+ grams and based on what she told me, that sounded like the average persons experience on like 3.5-4 grams.

She always keeps herself from eating prior to tripping, for at least 4 hours but usually even longer. She doesn't drink coffee or tea during the day of the trip. And the same shrooms have full effect on myself and our friends who have tried them.

Anyone have any idea what could cause this? Is it just how her system handles the shrooms? I mean, the shrooms do work but she has to take such huge doses it makes her nauseous and prolongs the come down quite a bit. She isn't on any kind of medication apart from the occasional lansoprazole to settle her stomach acids and cetirizine for allergies.

The question is; do we need to just up her dose if she wants a bigger beating or try taking a MAOI or something? It's not the end of the world, we're mostly curious.

Did she try lemon tek? That might help with nausea.
I don't know why this happens but some people need huge amounts of shrooms, my friend did about 2 grams of cubensis and felt almost nothing. I'm on the other side, 2 grams would probably fried my brain

Yes she has tried lemon tek and has noticed no significant change in potency or come up speed.

Everyone is different.

I fed my ex 2g and she had a level 5 trip.

It takes me about 12-15 to get there.

My only advice is that some posters here will tell you that your shrooms are fake and you're lying. Don't listen to them.

Thanks for the input, guys. Looks like we'll just have to up her dose and see where that leads!

I'm just afraid that you really do just have some bunk shrooms and your gf is going to take a 10+ gram dose for real and then what would happen

Thanks for the tip but I'm fairly certain the shrooms are potent as shrooms from the same exact tub totally floored me and my friend. Also, we have had wild ones too (libs) on multiple occasion, both fresh and dried, and the same thing occurs with them as well.

Oh and also commercially grown and sold truffels in Amsterdam, she needed to take way more than I did to get the effects.

Try having her mix some light edibles or just a few puffs of the dank, might multiply the effects. My "problem" is that it's really easy to get too high.

She prefers not to eat anything as it has sometimes made the nausea a tad bit worse. We both have smoked weed and felt it kinda makes things fuzzier. Ups the shroom potency a bit but makes less clear so we both prefer not to smoke. That said, weed helps with the nausea though.

Can't ever be sure with mushrooms, haha.

She is probably tougher than I am and can take a mental beating better than me. She had a pretty bad trip in the summer and after she told me about it I could only think I would've broken down so bad that it actually put me off wanting to take shrooms in a while, lol.

Is she on any medications?

Ive noticed that in my experience and in a very general sense, women seem to be more tolerant to psychedelics (meaning they need to take more than men).

Nope, no medication. It's starting to look she is just one of those few people who need a heavier dose. One of my friends is the opposite, he usually trips balls with 3 grams.

I think im similar to your girlfriend, i think we just have a natural tolerance to shrooms or something?

4g for me is not that much, low to no visuals and other effects.
After my first yield im going to be experimenting with higher doses to see if i can reach the kind of trips i have read about in trip reports.

I usually eat 13-15 grams for a high level dose, my brother only needs 3 g of the same batch to get there. It just depends per person

Sounds like natural tolerance. Some people just need bigger doses for some reason. Individual brain chemistry is strange like that

Thanks for the help guys, I wasn't sure of why this was because I have never met anyone with such high tolerance to shrooms. I'll have her try a bigger dose the next time we decide to trip!
