Trip room, your comfortable space

Does everyone have a special room set up just for tripping, a comfortable space they can retreat to and enjoy the setting. Be it just a room full of their favorite games, art, colorful lights ect? Let's see them.
Here's my work in progress. I spent a few weeks cleaning up the basement, setting up a little gym area, a corner for the daughter to paint in and a chill spot to trip. Still needs some more stuff and xmas lights. Maybe a laser light show glob thing.

I like the wall tapestries because they help liven up the cold basement walls. Need to get some more posters but it's a pain to hang anything because the concrete.
Plan on getting a bigger tv for down there and like I said some more lighting

Also just got some florescent paints, thought it might be fun to paint while tripping.
love to see what kind of cool stuff you guys have going on.

Man, that is cool. I live on rent in an apartment building so I haven't really been able to set my bedroom to my liking. I'm moving to a house soon, I hope to set it up just right. Your room looks really cool, would love to trip in it!

I have no special trip-room, but this is my living room. Whenever I trip at home this is the place to be. I neither have special trip-decoration, but the shadows caused by the ceiling lamp are jutst amazing to look at while high, especially when it's dark.

That basement is coming together man! I wish I had my own place so I could start decorating to my liking. I know when I buy a house I'm going to put that into consideration when setting up either my.room or basement.
You have an awesome set up and really does look like a place you can let loose in!
@Pandemoon - Oh wow, I can already forsee how nuts that would look while tripping

Your basement does though look pretty awesome. Really impressed with your artwork 👍🏻
Pandemoon, yours looks really cool too. Plenty of space, just what I like (although we have just downsized because the wife wanted to move closer to her mum!)

In general I would agree, but I do love my psychedelic safe place when I’ve peaked and am coming down. It just looks beautiful, and is so uplifting. Anything that’s good for the soul is good in my book. Mush love DJ Ed

Lol short term memory ‘n all! One other thing, hopefully I’ve got a trip coming up with a real good old mate. We’ll be spending most of the night in my room, and probably with eyes open. Actually looking forward to an “old skool” trip 👍🏻

Dark is cool and all but nothing beats hanging out with a good friend and chilling. I remember watching toy story when it first came out on a couple hits of cid. When the movie was over everything kept that cartoonish look to it for the night. Was a fun trip.

Our living room is more my wifes space.

She does have this bad ass gargoyle her cousin carved for her though

My office is where I spend most my time, haven't tripped in here yet so not sure how comfortable it would be though the ambient lighting and computer I'm sure could be fun. Not to mention just chilling and watching the fish.

Your house is so clean, uncluttered, tidy and awesome looking. 10 out of 10. My wife and I have just downsized to relocate close to her mum. I feel caged in! But on the clutter side of things, we have a saying: you can’t see the clutter if you eat by candlelight 👍🏻

Thanks, I'm the neat freak. The wife likes clutter and knickknacks. It's a hard balance.

I’d recommend you get yourself an autism mood lamp. Just checked my orders on Amazon but it’s no longer available; it was called an Aurora Projection LED Night Light. It’s like a small multi-faceted globe, where the LEDs inside rotate and cast multiple coloured lights around your room. It is awesome. Not even remembering it’s there and on, you sense the whole colour and mood of the room changing; feels amazing. I think it’s on the dark photo on the psychedelic safe place thread I started a while back; Psychedelic Safe Place Thread
One other thing; you need to relocate the gargoyle into the basement 👍🏻

The pictures look really cool. Mine is similar, but plastic, and on a flat base. Bottom left corner of the TV in my first signature piccy.

I didn’t make this post to boast about just my space , really wanted to see what you guys had set up as well. Maybe get ideas from eachother
I upgraded the tv and stand in the basement. Really happy with it. Electric fireplace doesn’t put out a lot of heat but just enough to warm you up a little in the cold basement

Fully with you on this, D3monic ✊🏻
BTW, it looks sick. You’ve so inspired me, my 10m LED light strip has arrived from Amazon. Then realised it will be to bright; just thinking on best solution whether to diffuse it inside an led carrier, or put a plastic strip up to block the leds from your line of sight so they just illuminate down the walls. And obviously, purple........
We’re looking to move house in about 18 months. A basement will be on my wishlist 👍🏻. Just as it used to be, but for different reasons 🧐
I particularly like the uncluttered nature and the large space, as also demonstrated in Pandemoon’s photos.
Keep the photos coming, people 👍🏻

Stunning ✊🏻
Got my tin of Matt white paint to redo the brick walls tomorrow; weed stains the white over time just like cigarettes would!
Then tomorrow the double-sided type, and the aluminium led diffuser strips arrive. Should be fully psychedelic tomorrow night :-)
Next project (a mate did similar so the mrs won’t stop going on bout it now); log cabin / summer house in the back garden. Insulated, with wood burner, bed, Bluetooth speaker, power, fridge.........Mrs and daughter wouldn’t need to “disappear” for 6 hours then (which is costing me a small fortune - girls know how to spend when they’re let loose on their own shopping.....)

And all done for the day; walls painted white again, and LED lights up 👍🏻

I don't have a special space set up yet because I've only recently got into tripping. However, everytime I embark I like to prepare my entire apartment. I start by getting the entire place clean as a whistle, then get some diffuser blends going. I close all the blinds, turn on only lowlights such as Himalayan salt lamps and christmas lights. Then I get out my notebook, pen, coloring book and markers. Layout a yoga mat and then I'm set. Plus i have some Pendleton blankets on my couch which come in handy.
I really dig your setup and hope my girlfriend let's me create a real trip space some day

Thanks for this thread guys, I was thinking about putting more decorations in my flat for a few days now. The problem is that it's rented and I can't put holes in the walls to hang anything.
The tapestries look amazing, I think I'll put one with the self-adhesive hooks, hopefully it wouldn't damage the paint on the wall I also thought about installing Philips hue bulbs, but those are expensive and I'm probably moving out by the end of this year.
Any more tips on decorating without being too destructive?

Yeah pretty much the same here. As far as mushrooms are concerned: Full surround sound if listening to music to drive the visual show and have it as dark as possible. Got a couple nice lazy boys and couch in the living room and my comfy bed with ear phones in the bedroom when shit gets challenging. Different strokes for different folks but once I discovered the hidden magic in the darkness; there is nothing in this realm of perception that compares.
Nice style and set up you got there so no put downs or one ups intended. Looks Great!
If ya wanna get extra creative, detergent makes a good black light paint, cannot see it until the black light is on.

I tend to stay away from my psychedelic safe space these days, as my wife and daughter are now out for my trips. So on your own, it can get “a bit lively” in there during the come up. And generally when I reach the peak, the lights are down and my eyes are closed anyway! I do prefer some background lighting though for those occasions where you need to open your eyes to ground yourself; when it’s dark, the closed eye visuals instantly become your open eye Visuals!!!
But I love my room with lights, candles, incense, Pink Floyd, and probably a glass of red wine, when I’m on the way down 👍🏻

Thank you so much for bringing up this thread.
I always felt in my home there was something missing. Now i will start to decorate more actively. Hopefully i can soon dive into stronger trips again.
I am already getting some lights and gonna check out the alternative / hippy stores in my city (of which there are luckily alot) for some nice artworks.

Amazon, although relatively expensive, has ‘most’ stuff you want.
Tapestries from £10. Mood lights about £10. Led strip mood lights 10m about £20. 20W black uv light (will cover an entire room) £20.
If you get a black light and some neon and or fluorescent pictures or tapestries, is all you really need. During the trip you don’t need bright ligt, black is bright enough......and makes everything look electric 👍🏻
Oh for me personally, there has to be greenery too.....
Get creative, have fun, and enjoy yourselves.

BTW, I reckon d3monic’s basement setup is SICK 👊🏻

What are your guys favorite LED strip lights? Are the one you can control with your phone worth it? (They’re like 50$.)
Are those projection lights worth it, like this one? Or is it just overpriced? I’ve seen cool videos of it
I’m trying to buy some stuff but not spend more then like 200$ right now.

You can get a good light for ~$30 that I would say is worth it. Different light settings, colors, and bluetooth integration for sound.

Get yourself a black uv light; 20W would fill a good sized room. And only cost me £20, so probably $20...
And get yourself some plants 👍🏻
My globe lamp was really cheap, and switches off after an hour, but is still awesome...
With $200 you’ll be able to fit your room out nicely
Shows us the pics when you’re done 👍🏻

My only qualm with the color change LED light strips is they come in such short strands and they don’t connect end to end. Most are 2 16’ strands.
I was really happy with these xmas lights though and one the blues even works as a dim blackliight. Seems some come with end to end connections and some don’t. Two where enough to wrap all the way around my basement.

This is what I’m working with right now. I was thinking some lights around the ceiling (idk what color,) plus a projector on the ceiling would look nice at night. Add a couple more tapestries as well possibly. I need to fill up some of the walls.

Ohhhh dude that looks sick. Try first off swapping that bulb for a proper black uv bulb (not led). That would probably do. Then a neon tapestry. BTW love your tapestry.

❤️ Thank you that means a lot, this is literally by my girlfriend and I’ll make sure to tell her. You got me excited that you like it, and I’m now going to beef it up some. I’m thinking..
-20W UV Light but I’d rather have UV light strips on the ceilings edges. Going to check reviews on that.
-Projector for the ceiling, maby this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B084DCF429/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1
-A mix of UV reactive poster(s), tapestries.
Sit back, burn Palo Santo and kick it.

That -rejector light looks pretty awesome. The black uv strip lights are led; I have what looks like a security light.....but it’s black uv led - they are quite bright, ie you can’t look at the bulb. But it does the job. But most people say the proper uv bulbs are best, in that they are not bright to the eyes....
D3monic has like black uv Christmas lights from what it looks like.
I have a small projector which basically changes the mood of the room while you’re tripping.
No your setup looks decent; a few neon tapestries will look great.
Oh and forgot to say, your greenery looks amazing.
And sounds like you’ll have change from your 200 👍🏻

Yes it is. They are very cool, but very pricey, so I went for a 50cm x 50cm one for under £30. I’ve also ordered a couple from Wish, for a fraction of the price....

I was going to buy a gaming computer instead buying cool stuff for my house but it was too expensive with the corona virus going on. So post anything cool you find please. Im VERY interested in UV tapestries, especially the etsy ones. Are the ones from WISH good quality as well? Is Etsy even worth it?
Im buying these cool LED Strip lights that you control with your phone, flash to the beat of music and stuff. Theyre only like 45 bucks too.

I’ve got the led strip lights around the conservatory, but to be honest, since getting the black uv, I generally turn off the leds.
The Wish tapestries......are coming from China, so could be a couple of months! The Etsy tapestry turned up last week and is top quality, nd very uv reactive; it literally jumps out at you, with tons of extra detail coming out. My only regret is I didn’t spend the almost £100 to get a 150cm x 150cm - went for 50 x 50, which is smaller than I’d imgined. I’ve already put in a Christmas present request for the 250cm x 150cm Etsy “alchemy” tapestry 👍🏻

Why do you turn them off? It ruins the vibe I assume? Cuz I was literally just about to buy some. You saw my room.. What’s your opinion?
I don’t necessarily want it for tripping, mainly hanging out so I’m not sure if I should concentrate on UV tapestries, or more so a chill vibe with a projector and regular tapestries. I mean all the plants are nice already, can’t make up my mind.

Basically when you’re tripping, everything is super bright anyway. I have found with just the uv on, everything looks electric, and nothing is too bright. When I’m not tripping, the leds are on more or less whenever it’s dark 👍🏻

We have no basement,,so I’m currently trying to get quotes to have a summer house built in the back, which will then become a more isolated trip room.....

Yeh was thinking along the lines of 8ft x 20ft, from brick, with power points and possibly a wood burner. And I would be both isolated from my family, but also not constricted / hemmed in like I feel in the conservatory. I find it hard at the moment all of us couped up under the same roof, bad atmosphere surrounding the house, weird head space. Not sure anyone can do this kind of work though under lockdown.....

I'm so jealous. I'm trying to keep my tripping/growing hobby a secret, I don't have the balls to cover my room with cool tapestries and all that. All I have is an old lava lamp and an incense burner, other than that I try to keep the space clean and clutter free.

Lol, I have been called impulsive in the past! My ideal outcome would be if it was built by my next trip

Dudes the best place to trip is not a room
But a thing I call extra large cat house.
Basically it should be big, like a tent, with nice high quality expensive mattress of bean bag in it, pillows and blankets. Also climate control, multi coloured mood lights that go from complete dark to whatever dimmed color u want also music system, a a pocket to hold stuff, an ashtray. Way cool. It's been on my mind for years, as soon as I pull my shit together I'm building this my own tripping house

First time I’ve painted anything in over 20 years. Blacklight paint is a bitch to work with. Very thin and takes multiple Coats

I’m liking what you’re doing there, D3monic
For real simple and cheap, get yourself some fluorescent highlighter pens; I bough 8 for about £5 and they work a treat:

Also, FYI, builders coming next Friday to do the base for the psychedelic summerhouse

They’re the normal “Staedtler” highlighter pens you get at work, but make sure they’re advertised as “fluorescent”. They do stand out on their own, but black light makes them jump out of the wall at you
I searched for ages trying to find reasonable price black light paint, but they seem to hike the price up. Anythig]nh that is “fluorescent” reacts to black light.

That is looking so awesome, D3monic 👍🏻
Nice stack of Kilmer jars in your first photo too 👍🏻
Yep, I like the mood lamps, they can alter the mood of the room as the colours change, can be very uplifting, interesting. Builders have started work on my brick summerhouse now; getting the base done on Monday; might have to wait a while to get the house built though, as building materials have trebled in price during the lockdown! I’m planning to get one of those galaxy mood lamps that does the stars and nebulas.
My black uv tapestries are still “in transit”; been on their way for almost 2nmonths now!! Damned curfew!
Anyways, I’d love to give you more props, but feeling shell-shocked this morning. I need to write up last night’s trip report; first “bad trip” since returning to mushrooms 4nyears ago. The anxiety I feel every time I dose, was confirmed last night. All those times I have been worried sick, right up until the point where the peak is reached and you know you are not going to get any higher, came to fruition last night. I need to try and understand where my head is today; last night I was starting to think that I might never take mushrooms again, so I need to integrate and have a break.
Here’s a photo, just to change my mood a bit, of the building work that has started, and a bonus pic (saving my weak Mazatapec stash...):

The anxiety is part of why I never cared for mushrooms, I didn’t get much of that with cid, usually just really enjoyed myself. Part of me is worried that when I finally do get a harvest that I won’t even enjoy it. Would be a real bummer after all the time and money I’ve put into building a hood and stuff. I’d have to resort to edibles, somehow those don’t seem as exciting for me.
Hopefully after a short break you’re feeling right as rain.

I like your trip room demonic. The spaciousness of the room would feel nice while tripping.
I like to trip in total darkness. It Allows for the illusions and hallucinations with their fractals and complex patterns, transforming mechanizations and, hieroglyphic landscapes and runes and colors and everything to just seemingly emerge out of nothing and light up the room despite their being no light, it’s really amazing - closed eye or open doesn’t make a difference when it’s all darkness.
There’s no light...yet there is a ton of celestial colored light forms everywhere. It’s a strange form of illumination. Starts out in total darkness, but then light and color emerge from nothing out the wazoo for the duration of the trip - and then it returns to nothing, leaving you in total darkness once again. And about 3 hours later the sun begins to come up, pure magic,

Yes dude, I’ve had a strange few months since the turn of the year. Been getting weird messages, but last night I think the mushrooms hammered that message home; have a freaking break!
Felt like I’d been injected with pure psilocybin! At 4, yes FOUR, hours in, it was still getting stronger. Anyway, not trying to hijack your thread; your room is looking real sick.

Give it some time, don’t ruminate in bad Trips as if they mean anything more than what a nightmare dream means, I’ve forgotten the content of my bad trips for the most part. The worst part of a bad trip, is letting it get to you - or ignoring something important from it - and having that cause anxiety in ones daily life or in ones next psychedelic trips.
Breaks are good for figuring that all out. You got this ,

Thanks The Blind Ass
I think an all round break is in order, with some healthy eating, exercising, and sleeping instead. A bit of reading. And maybe after years of threatening but never really trying that hard, meditation.
Then see if anything starts to make sense, or fall into place. Might just be as simple as 3 year old mushrooms; can’t see how they could get stronger in storage, so maybe something happens to the ratios of all the different chemicals. My usually well controlled diabetes sky rocketed out of control starting at 4 hours in. This was 11pm. And it lasted throughout the night. My eyes are like pin pricks today, my brain is completely flat, or empty, and I’m on double my usual insulin. Something obviously not right with either me or the mushrooms.

Sorry to hear that ed, and you’re not hijacking at all. We all here for you man. I don’t know enough about diabetes to hypothesize, did you fast or have anything outside the norm? I was just reading an article on reishi mushrooms and some studies done in its use for treatment of diabetes. How it affects enzymes in the liver that prevents the formation of glucose. Maybe other mushrooms can have an effect on that as well.

Btw, after that I talk about in that trip report, I went to live as a novitiate monk in a rinzai zen Buddhist monastery in jap for 3 months, to sort some things out and to learn how to properly meditate , and to live in a way so that I could meditate and could mediate appropriately. One of the hardest things I’ve done in my life, truly spartan, and because of that - one of the most rewarding. It’s a apart of my daily life, and so are many things I learned from being there. They truly keep the flame of wisdom alive, those monks. The right ones at least...

Thanks D3monic, The Blind Ass, appreciate your advice.
D3monic; I always have to monitor my blood sugar - worst scenario would be a low blood sugar. But after I come down, my insulin needs do tend to increase. So I’ll need to turn my insulin up overnight. But this was different, the insulin didn’t work! I fasted on Friday, having a light sandwich 3 hours before taking the tea, so all normal there.
I had insisted my wife didn’t lock herself away, and that I would try to chat with her throughout the trip; I don’t think this was wise, as I was focusing some energy on making sure she would stay with me (which she did for the first three hours, then suggested I go to bed and I’d be fine in the morning!)
The Blind Ass; I’ll check out your post tonight, dude, thank you. I ugh in the past that my best chance of success would be a retreat; it’s just with a wife, children and dogs, not sure I’d get away with it! Need to be disciplined at home, and lock myself away each day.
❤️ DJ Ed

I’m so excited, coworker said he had a present for me. 90% certain it’s acid. He knows how much I used to love it. Said he got some a while back but another coworker talked him out of giving me some because I’m the safesty guy / corporate management. He told me about it one night when we was bullshiting. I told him that was bullshit and to hook me up next time.
Can’t imagine it would be anything else. Excited

My trip space is outdoors at night, preferably on a river sandbar, far from any civilization or if I'm trying to go on a journey, a completely blacked out room, that is devoid of any light, but it has to have instrumental music, no lyrics. The sensory overload from being in the complete darkness, combined with the music, never fails to take me on a fantastic journey through my mind and to places I never remember visiting before, But seem so familiar. My journeys are always in a cartoon like format, never like real life, everything is animated like the old Flintstone cartoons when I have cev's and I seem to recognize everyone.
Tripping on the sandbar is its own unique experience, especially if you're with that special person in your life. I don't know what it's like for y'all but whether it's mushrooms or LSD, it can tap into an almost primal sexual appetite and can make for some of the best sex ever. Being out on the river, naked in the wilderness with the sounds of the water moving and the critters of the night is exhilarating (at least until the mosquitoes ruin it in summer).

Omg I love being by the water or in the water tripping. My dad keeps his pool like 85 degrees. Is so therapeutic like being in the womb.
I once got bit on the prick by a mosquito while tripping in the woods. Was not a pleasant experience and still to this day I’m apprehensive pissing outdoors in the summer time! 🤣
