My understanding is that lids or foil is a matter of choice. I’ve been successful with Previous grows just from using foil and autoclave tape, making sure that I clean the foil and needle with ISO, before each piercing and injection.

You want to fill up your jars completely to get the most out of your jars. Also, your syringe might not reach the substrate if theres not enough material in the jar.
So filling them all the way is really the only way you should do PF Tek.
Also, its best to leave the foil loose while it colonizes for gas exchange. I leave my foil on for most the time as well. It just has to be loose on the lid.

The nice thing about using lids with holes that are covered with tape is you don’t puncture anything with the tip of your syringe; one less vector. I had great success with lifting the tape up and inocing and then replacing the tape until the area directly under the tape is colonized and removing the tape after that to let the jar finish up. MP tape works even better than masking

I have lids for the jars and the injection ports. I’ve been avoiding it. I better get busy For the next batch to spawn and transfer to coir.
But also to start doing that to gains.
I have some bigger jars that I got from £ shop that i am going try and use.
I’m curious as to weather I can use them in a pressure cooker though as they were cheap. Gonna give an empty one a try in the PC, if it breaks... that will answer my question
