Do any of these plates look good for transfer ?
    #26417607 - 01/05/20 02:01 PM (4 years, 1 month ago)

Just wondering which plates i should use to take transfers

plate #1

plate #2

plate #3

plate #4

i was thinking plate number 2 looked good for transfers and parts of plate #1
plate #3,4 are made with a different agar and the plate 4 is with brf agar all the rest are LME agar so not sure if thats why they look different or if there just dirty plates

Looks greasy, id try to transfer from the 6 oclock area to try to get it clean.  I had plates like this and I though it was because of soft agar, some peops said it was bacteria

plate #2

Id be looking at taking 3-4 plates from this with the plan that the next transfer was to grains

plate #3

Keep transferring

You have some good mycellium there so you are doing fine

This is not strictly true, you can have either tomentose or rhizomorphic growth as long as its uniformed, contaminant free and constant.

Are both sets of transfers cubes? The last plate looks so much lighter than the rest.

Regarding top transfer

Lower the nutes on the next transfer so you can get a better view of whats growing in there.  What you dont want is some kind of mold that is attached.  When the nutrients are so high it grows so thick its hard to tell.

Saying that you can always put 1 to grains and test it leaving a little a little mycelium on the plate to use for transfers.

From my experience though my feeling is its good growth

Regarding bottom transfer

It looks a little bit suspect so id keep transferring

Thanks for the reply and ya both cubes both same spore swab I did there all T3s I think I used 7 grams LME with 10grams agar on these plates how much should I lower the nutes and what's best way to test these plate it seems alot of work to just prep one grain jar and pressure cook it may as well load my pc up with jars but then I dont wanna chance wasting them all wish there was a quick easy way to tell if plates are good

I alway fill a pc with jars and put ones aside im not using.  Then before using again give them another blast.  Once you get into it all a bit more you will be cooking up jars all the time.

Let them grow out a bit more and post results in a couple of days.  As said my gut says they are good but my experience says be sure before going big.

Those all look fantastic to me.
I wait until they are at the edge of the plate, cut the agar into quarters, drop a quarter per jar of oats and shake at 30% colonization.
