Question for the Cubensis gurus (I’m prepping for next year)
Have you ever found a cube growing out of wombat dung?
I’ve been finding some subs in wombat dung and have a hunch the climate may warm up enough in the hottest part of summer for cubes to sprout. From what I can, tell wombats eat a lot of grass and tree/shrub roots. Seems to be good for the wood lovers to grow out of. Hoping it’s the right environment for cubes too.
It would be a paradise if I could find winter subs and summer cubes in the same spot.
Anyone?

Sussed a new spot this morning, found a little cluster. The blueing on these little caramel bad boys was crazy. Potent looking little fuckers.

Hi first time posting long time follower. I found a large specimen a couple days ago around the coast of NSW that looked similar to the ones Shags19 posted above. Slimy kind of cap but forgot to take photos. Found this interesting looking mushroom (on the right) today but didn’t manage to get a photo of the spores or gills. Lots of fungi around the areas I walk, particularly amongst decomposing logs and bark. The last image is a mushroom that stands about 200mm high with a cap around 70-80mm tall. The stem is at least 10mm in diameter.

Decent finds today despite limited rain this week. Anyone else find anything whilst hunting this weekend?

That's a great haul! I found a few subs in a little patch, but I cleared the place out. Looking to go back there in a week or so to hopefully find more

Nice. I’ve never had bush subs before, so can’t compare. My picking buddy had 1.6g dry of urban subs I picked and was at level 4 pushing level 5. He was more cooked than 5g of cubensis. Urban subs are potent little fuckers.

That's crazy strong man! Have you had any other times where they were that potent?

I’ve got subs that have been stored in the freezer from last season and they haven’t really lost anything in the potency department. They are always potent. I don’t think me and subs get along. Love/Hate

Have you got on the dosage calculator on this forum Eatn? It is a good guide for figuring out what sort of trip you want to experience

All look like Subaeruginosa but it's always good to do an ID post and get it confirmed by a TI.

Found these in the grass near my house. 3 * 8g fresh monsters.
Only started looking about a month ago. I have to say though, there are a lot of look a likes for subs and the colour variation once the sun hits them is nuts.
I can see why people call them gold tops. Funny how once you start seeing them it gets a bit easier though, but I’ve only had success around people’s front yards. It seems the arborists here have spread a lot of sub goodness with wood chips. People in the area also take a lot of wood chips from the council dumps.

Make sure you get those check by a TI, especially if you're new to the game. There are heaps of lookalikes around where I am, identical tops but the stems are darker, not as fibrous, and don't show the bluing colouration. I'm quite new myself but that stem in your photo looks a bit dark.
Cheers and keep hunting.
