We have a number of Psilocybe species that are easy enough to find in the native bush here but, I've searched so many exotic habitats that look identical to the pictures you Aussies share with no luck. I have managed to find Psilocybe subaeruginosa in pine forests a couple times but they're always tiny, i'm jealous of the monsters you guys get.

The Psilocybe papuana with the crazy mycelium is freaky, cool find!

Lots of temperate species popping up already in the hunter region. Here's some finds from Tuesday I hadn't had a chance to upload (no coverage)

Psilocybe alutacea

Amanita muscaria

Psilocybe subaeruginosa

All sfinds at 1000m ASL in some very pristine pine/eucalyptus forests.

These are from the Hunter region?
:thisisheavyman:

Looks like my weekend is planned out. There is only a few pine forests in this area so i hope its the one closest to me.</font>

Yes, all sub finds are from the divide between Port Macquarie and Newcastle.

I took the dog for a walk through a local park this afternoon and there were mushrooms everywhere. My phone went flat after I took these 3 pics unfortunately. I found at least half a dozen different looking mushrooms species within a 200m radius. I don’t know what species any of them were.

Located NSW hunter region very close to salt water.

Inactive species, familiarize yourself with psilocybe cubensis & panaeolus cyanescens - they grow directly off dung commonly found in pastures.

I thought I'd chuck it in the back yard on some pressure cooked sugarcane mulch and Cow poo and wait and see what popped up.  I'm going to try growing from a sample on agar and also from prints too.

Glad to hear it, don't forget to grab some pics (gotta love those habitat shots) :gethigh:

I should've taken some the day before. I didn't realise that it's interesting to see. I will be next time.
I went back at night as it was close to the road and properties and I didn't have the balls to do it in daylight.

I'll move these over to the ID thread if it's not wanted here

Fairly sure this is Cyanescens?
The rest I am less sure about. They didn't blue.

Cyanescens on the right. The others looked slightly different shape, pointier and the gills seemed to drop down lower near the outer edge of the cap.

Some type of Panaeolus

These had lighter gills, thicker stems and less watery looking caps so I separated them. Suspect the are the same just more mature.

The one youre holding in the first is indeed a cyan.

Not really seeing any bruising on any of the others and they all scream pan antillarum to me.

Came off a 12hr nightshift and had an hour in the paddock on sunrise. Nice time of the morning to have a pick. You can walk around pretty relaxed and found a few too. Was a pretty cool morning, don’t know how much longer they will be around for. Got a good supply anyway in case the Corona virus hits and I’m quarantined at home for a while😊

Happy Hunting

Correct, the only panaeolus cyanescen is the one you're holding. Rest are antillarum.

Yeah cheers bertblack,

This season being my first hunting cubensis has been very kind to me. It’s bloody addictive I tell ya. I’ve never been to fond of rain, except where it’s needed, but I like it more now.
