Lesson Learned with Agar

Never...ever.....ever... put agar in the garbage disposal.

Don't do it.

That is all.

Probably not a good idea. I’d pour boiling water down in the disposal to get it to go down.

This has been a mistake in the making for several months.  Basically, it builds up in the pipes.  Today was the infarction that basically backed up every drain line in the house.  Haha

The kitchen sink backed up first then the washing machine overflowed.

I cleaned everything out with a 25' pipe cleaner that only took 7-8 hours.
The p-traps were clogged with agar and were cleaned out and replaced.

Basically, when I made transfers to clean up mycelium, I pitched the old agar in the disposal.  I guess i will just frisbee them over the fence in the neighbor's flower bed.

Drano wouldn't take care of it. Or something else similar to it.

Is a trash bin not an option for some reason? Or a compost pile?

Yes, you don't want to put it in the trash can that goes out for public trash service.

Quote:

Law enforcement officials do not need a warrant to search a trash can that a homeowner sets out for collection in a publicly accessible area next to his house, according to a federal appeals court ruling. [U.S. v. Redmon, No. 96-3361, 7th Cir., March 10, 1998.]

One pin on a plate or the mycelium of an illegal substance is probable cause for a search warrant of the residence from which it was obtained.
