Second night my dad wanted me to just barge through security in my brown ford van witch did not work. maybe back in the 90s when people were tearing fences down. I dont really like being apart of that.
Something about me i think people see and decide not to offer any around me. I feel Like i just get a glance and then they look away. I have pretty good hearing and pay attention to whats around me but thats just how its been in my experience.
Im frustrated and fed up with it, it became an obsession of mine to trip in the show and dance with everybody, the more it eludes me the worse it is.
Given up on the shows now. I think I might be supposed to travel alone, away from the chaotic energy of the masses.
This is supposed to be a music thread so ill stop here.
The trick is to be nice and look people in the eye. Stand tall too. Also offering people a beer, lemonade, or shrooms can help get the ball rolling. The easiest way to get doses at a Dead show is to just ask 1 or 2 people your age. Most people at shows are holding.
I didn't get offered any doses at Chicago, but wasn't really looking either. It was definitely there if I wanted it. I did find a bunch of drugs and stuff when leaving the last night/morning. That was awesome!!!

I just want to see the psychedelic scene keep rockin' on. Never was a dead head but always had much respect for the movement. We need more of it IMO.

A buddy gave me an old tie dyed Grateful Dead tshirt when I was like 13 years old. Super cool shirt with bears sitting in tea cups on the front and a dragon on the back.
The front said Grateful Dead and the back kind of puzzled me. It said Scarlet Fire. I wasn't familiar with the dead at the time but thought it was a really cool shirt and I wore it all the time. Until there was no collar and all the hems were gone and was riddled with holes and faded. Eventually I stopped wearing it but kept it in a box for years.
Fast forward 15 years and I'm working the harvest at a weed farm in CA and one of the owners shows up for the full moon in October and doses pretty much everyone on the farm. I was one of the last to get dosed and didn't realize what was happening. I walked up to where everyone was gathered around the campfire and my buddy tells me to hold out my hand. I was like, ok, and held it out palm up like to receive something. Didn't realize it was supposed to be a back of the hand liquid drop thing... so the owner smiled and gave me a puddle that was enough to slosh out of my hand a little on it's way to my mouth.
Fuck.
Anyway, spare you the tripping balls details.... but someone blasted a Grateful Dead set over and over all night long from his pickup truck stereo. It rang loud and clear through those Sierra Nevada hilltops and I could hear it perfectly from anywhere I walked through the woods that night. It was incredible. I had never heard anything like it. Probably the 3 or 4th go round of this set on repeat, I'm starting to get some lyrics. Scarlet Begonias is playing. What a great song! But wait... it doesn't end, but kind of... just continues into another song... (didn't know about the jam at this point). This song is Fire on the Mountain. Another great song! As I'm sitting there enjoying the tunes and tripping balls and watching the full moon, it hits me.
Scarlet Fire...
Scarlet Begonias into Fire on the Mountain...
Holy shit! That's what the tshirt is referring to!
Felt like a weird personal prophecy coming true or some shit.
I love the stories in their music. So good.
Thanks for starting a Dead thread!

The dead does something to me that no other musician has accomplished. The chills, the tears, all of it. Friend of devil was the song on repeat during my First ever experience with the sacred alkaloid (Psilocin) and something has been rocking my brain ever since.
I lit out from Reno, I was trailed by 20 hounds. My mastiff just had 20 puppies (only 13 lived but she birthed 20 hounds.)

Why is this stickied?

I just think if this thread is stickied the electronic thread should be too. Or neither. It seems odd to me. Who's decision was it?
