Wow thanks, points taken! Big up for you guys! If it wasn't for ppl like you in the forum, a lot of grows would be damned!

I stop worrying about the CO2 and continue with a whole new approach to misting/fanning. Peace!

I know this post is 6 years old but I am experiencing something similar. "ring of fairy" and a couple of mushrooms in the middle. I put in a liner to avoid side growth but im guessing my liner was not strong enough and dark enough.
*also if you noticed I took a picture of a greyish spot in my monotub

Any ideas how to prevent this in the future?

Well I saw some post where mushrooms were growing at the bottom of the sub and well to my surprise there was a cluster of these guys growing in the bottom.

I used a liner to prevent micro climate and light but the mushroom said fuck you anyways haha any ideas why they rebelled :hehehe:

You just need to learn to dial in the surface conditions, which can really only be learned by doing.

What did you use for a liner?? It reminds me of a burger wrapper lol. Light won’t cause side pins, so I like clear trash bags so I can see what’s going on.

Your tub looks pretty wet, try less misting next time. The short shrooms and dark lines on them are from too much moisture. It can warp caps also.

Any recommendations/advice or a link you that you learned from that could point me in the right direction to dial my tube in?

I used a trash bag but it has ripples so maybe next time I should use something more solid and darker.

I thought pins grow towards light...the light gives them a sort of direction. As for the wet part I didnt mist at all just set and forget.

Actually I had just glanced at one picture, the surface looks a little matted which is from drying out and getting wet in a cycle.

I think if you put an extra 1/3-1/2 inch layer of coir on top when you spawned the tub it would help a ton. I had the same problem at first and top layering was huge for me.

If its drying out should I let it soak for another flush? Could I also add a thin layer of coir like you mentioned now? Or should I only do that when spawning at first
