Was anyone excited about the new album he dropped the other day with a video for darkness? It's such a good album.

I like the album a lot. It’s a throwback to his dark and sinister murder lyrics from SSLP, MMLP, and Relapse.
I find it laughable that people are offended by the whole Ariana Grands lyrics when he has said way more controversial lyrics in the past and even said something way more offensive previously on thd same topic.
Seems to me the media is bringing attention to if for the sake of getting views for their online rags and for the sake of moral grandstanding.

I completely agree.
This whole AG/ Eminem contraversey is amusing to me. It goes to show how dense and idiotic people really can be. Besides, aren't all her followers grade school kids?

Reading the reviews of this album Why the fuck would they get some thin skinned PC bitchass to claim it sucks because of “white privilege” and offensive lyrics. Clearly some over sensitive punk who lets their hatred for an individual blind them to the art of ems music. What is white privilege anyway when they are referencing some guy who grew up on food stamps in the hood with a drug addict mother?

I was surprised he was taking issue on gun control. The video for darkness was pretty good, I like the way he manipulated his syllables in the song

I'm not so happy he released it on the same day as Mac's final album. I'm hoping it was a coincidence but if not Marshall is losing some cool points from me.. I haven't had a chance to listen to either yet as I went over my monthly bandwidth and the remaining signal I get for the month isn't much better than whatever it takes to use this site. So I have to wait until tomorrow. I'll probably post a lil review here for the lulz. I actually really liked Kamikaze and listening to what he did recently with Fat Joe I have high hopes.

I'd never argue that white people shouldn't rap, or that white rappers are necessarily appropriating black culture. But I think it's fair to point out how quickly Eminem was accepted into the mainstream, how he was instantly labelled the king of rap, the insane amount of awards won and records sold relative to others making similar music at the time, and so on. The success he was met with was unprecedented in hip hop, and it isn't a crazy "PC bitchass" claim to say his whiteness could have played a part in that.

So because he released it on the day mac Miller dropped his your dropping cool points for him? I dont think enimen needs your "cool points" man has money. Although I do think he gets obsessed with women who show him attention. Example nikki minaj. Mariah carey... I dont think women fuck with em alot

Yeah I think it's hard to deny that he's a top tier lyricist and freestyle battler.

This.
He also had to work twice as hard because he is white.

I don't recall needing your approval or it being necessary you even look at my posts. Okay so he has money = my opinion is moot. I'm not talking about his fucking music you clown.

Em himself has explicitly said multiple times on his records that him being white obviously has had a major, ultimately positive impact on his global superstardom.
Keep in mind though that as he was coming up it was instead a monumental obstacle, as he was considered whack before anyone had even heard him utter a single bar in the Detroit battle rap scene.
Those were the days when any white rapper was immediately infected with the Vanilla Ice stigma. Em was routinely booed off stages coming up.
But yes when he finally broke through (largely because Dr. Dre gave him the ultimate vouch by signing him, Em instantly became a serious and credible rapper), he exploded and certainly being a blond haired, blue eyed white kid helped him in a major, major way.
That said, his ridiculous skill in the booth is utterly undeniable. He's not just some average to decently skilled rapper who blew up simply because he's white.
One could make a legitimate case that the guy is the most talented and skilled rapper...ever. I'm not saying that he is by the way -- just that one could absolutely make a legitimate case on his behalf.
His flow is absolutely absurd and it's a really, really short list when it comes to guys who can match him when it comes to that.

I will say this though real quick: I used to be a huge Em Stan. Just a massive fan.
I'm not as much anymore -- because I feel like his content has really, really waned. He seems completely hellbent on constantly reminding everyone that his flow is otherworldly, and nearly every track he puts out these days is him trying to display that.
Dude I think you more than proved that a long time ago. As much as I enjoy listening to these new ridiculous rhyme schemes he comes up with and am amazed by the delivery, the content for the most part really doesn't do much for me anymore, sadly. The shock value thing kinda wears off after the billionth time.
His delivery somehow has gotten better and better over time (which is nuts because his flow was already special in his early days) but his best album IMO is still (probably by far too) the Marshall Mathers LP. And that shit was released 20 years ago.

Yeah I noticed that around the Relapse/Recovery days. It became a lot of “I’m gonna break” and got to be a bit of a drag. He seems to be focused on the technical side of things and quality of story is dropping. For awhile there it felt like he was just phoning it in not really taking it serious and then a dope ass song would be peppered in. This latest album from what I’ve heard seems to be of a higher quality though.
My favorites are still ‘the originals’ though and the D12 stuff. So long story short, I concur..
