Humidity+drying=not dry.

This is what keeps me a cool season grower. I can't fathom running the dehydrator inside in the summer, it's like a space heater, my AC bill is high enough. My summers are stupid humid and I've always felt it wouldn't make sense to try to run the dehydrator outside because of the humidity.

Am I overthinking it? How do you dehydrate in the summer in a hot and humid environment?

They're fairly efficient though. It's not like the heating element is running at full power the whole time. Much of the heat gets recycled.

So you just run it inside. Ok, but to have a constant running heat source inside in the summer, when it's 100+ outside, just seems suicidal. I mostly cook outside in the summer for this reason. Priorities, I guess?

It's not that big a deal. In fact the additional cost for the AC to remove the extra heat produced by the dehydrator is probably a lot less than the cost of running the dehydrator itself. I don't see any reason you couldn't run it outside though.

yeah i havent had big mushies, avarage and mostly smaller than avarage.
Im still noob and doing brf to bulk and cakes in humitdy chamber so i cant hope much from this, have seen nice results with those teks but yeah grain spawn, agar and shit like this is for nice size cubes imo. but my mushies are potent and work, thats all i want for tripping time to time, homegrown clean mushies
100°  yeah.
anyway both of u are trusted cultivators so what would you recommend if i decide to try get really into cultivation ,would agar to grain be easyest?

The agar seems to be difficult for me but might be easier for others. What works best for me is when my first grain jars are almost done (via spore syringe) i do a grain to grain transfer by taking a small amount of colonized grain and adding it to new sterile grain jars. Much faster. That is if you are doing a monotub. Brf cakes are pretty much stuck with syringe inoculation everytime.

Isn't contamination bothering you?
Ms syringe to grain is bit scary because spore syringes are every time dirty
Do grain to grain transfers make spawn cleaner or something?

I haven't had any issues with my syringes being dirty. Reliable spores is a newer company with a great site and prices. They have been more than great to me. Even sending me 2 new free syringes when i thought the last one i got for free wasn't cloudy enough. If i ever have a contamination issue its usually because i didn't sterilize my grain long enough. I then use the same syringe on a better sterile grain and works perfectly. Not a dumb question. Thats what we are here for.
