so many side pins! (bods tek) (pics)
    #26427892 - 01/11/20 10:59 AM (4 years, 1 month ago)

I thought it was going perfectly until i saw tons of pins pressed up against the sides and the bottom.

I followed bod’s tek, there’s so many it makes me sad :/

That’s actually not too bad, as long as pins show up on the surface too.

Some of my early shoeboxes had only side and bottom pins and I flipped them over and put them in a humidity chamber. Still turned out good.

Idk for sure but I’ve been told uncolonized areas like that triangle on the right side of the third pic could be myc cordoning off a contam.

Lol right I wish I’d cloned some. One day I hope I’ll get a surface pinset as dense as those pin clusters were.

Idk if it’s something to do with growing against the wall or what but ops got some pretty dense clusters going also.

Op how did you run this tub? Right to fruiting or colonized first? You’ve got crazy surface myc In the last pic I missed that before.

oh well that makes me feel a bit better,

that triangle you mentioned I think might be parts that were lacking grain, probably from not mixing well enough, but could also be contams, they were slightly bacterial 🤞🏼 fingers crossed it’s just coco tho

I’m worried once they get bigger they’re gonna start messin with the shape of my brick haha but hopefully it’ll be okay

—& right to fruiting, it might look a bit funny since there were so many oats on top

*also those pics look 🔥🔥 very impressive to save such a dense pinset

Holy shit!

That’s a dense brick lol.

Looks like a ball of snakes but should be a good yield, how long ago did you take them out of the tubs?

Is this a clone or ms?

If it’s spore I’d be taking some clones.

haha irk? like spaghetti, it was almost impossible to separate, I only was able to salvage about half and lots were far too wet from being on the underside I guess,
seemed kinda gross

Ill update soon on the quantity dried I was able to save
Unfortunately on top they weren’t as prevelient. :/

I think it was from not mixing we’ll enough, I virtually had a casing layer on the bottom, looking for bigger fruits too so next time I may do less spawn per coco

It is ms from what I can remember, but I want bigg fruits so unfortunately I’m good on these clone-wise for now

proper surface conditions decrease side pins, reason they are pinning on the side is because the sides have the proper conditions.

Usually they’re fine being wet, once they dry you can’t tell the difference.

What kind was this?

that was my original thinking, but some almost turned to mush when u squeezed them, no pun instead, so I personally decided those leave out.

These are mexi dutch kings, I find them to be much more resilient than golden teachers however I like the experience from the teachers much been better, personally

I understand about the surface conditions and I would agree, but I got a decent flush on the surface as well, just such dense sets everywhere else.
