WOW! I really did not know it was this bad, I hardly go downtown though.

DENVER (AP) — A PARK across from the state Capitol where homeless people have been camping was shut down Wednesday because officials say it has become infested with rats.
Over 30 tents lined the edge of the park in the morning. Footage from KDVR-TV showed police officers going from tent to tent to let people know they need to leave and campers talking to other city officials looking to find out if they want to take advantage of social services.
Hundreds of rats are currently living in Liberty Park and could spread diseases through their feces and human contact, among other ways, Tammy Vigil, a spokeswoman for the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment told The Denver Post.
“The reason the rats are so big is because of all the food that's left there — all the food waste that's not thrown away,” Vigil said.
The closure is likely to last weeks, Ann Cecchine-Williams, the department's deputy executive director, said.
The number of tents in the park grew in recent weeks after a Denver County judge ruled that the city's urban camping ban amounted to cruel and unusual punishment. Police have not been enforcing the ban in the two weeks since the ruling but City Attorney Kristin Bronson has said she planned to tell police to resume enforcement sometime this week.

Ohh, that might be true. I just think a big city with a huge influx of money could do better, but I do hear a lot of them choose homelessness around here. A friend of mine actually engages them and talks to homeless people as he lives right near there, and he tells me a lot of them are homeless by choice.

there is a conspiracy imo... idk what but i think there is something going on. AFAIK its happening in all cities. and while millions/billions get spent in tax dollars to fix the situation, its gotten worse. where is all the money going? where are all the people coming from?
in my city, they have spent more money to 'help' the homeless then it would have cost to put them each into their own apartment lol... it would literally be cheaper to completely fix the problem by paying for them to live somewhere then whatever shit show they have going on now which hasnt fixed anything lol.

This is what I'm talking about! There are several empty buildings in which they could house and give shelter and food, and maybe this would be the hand up that a homeless person needs to get back started again in life.
