Is this flowhood okay for agar and g2g?
    #26437827 - 01/17/20 03:52 AM (4 years, 1 month ago)

I am looking at the horizontal flow hood, they say it reaches Class 5 and is a  H14 Grade HEPA Filter.

https://www.airclean.co.uk/hepa-filters/tabletop-laminar-flow-cabinets/

It specifically mentions: "Typical applications for Laminar Flow Cabinets include electronics and microbiological work such as Mycology (mushroom culture growing)."

Priced at: £510.00 GBP = $665.00 USD.

I want to continue into agar and g2g.

You can also buy just the filter and the fan as one unit and not the hood/tunnel which would reduce the cost a little, are these necessary?

Seems expensive but then again seems like stuff in general is expensive in the UK. That kind of $ I would build my own but maybe its already nearly that expensive in the UK to find a blower and filter anyway.

Either way yes it does look sufficient. many people use flow cabinets with no hood.

Thanks, appreciate your input.

You're right, I can't find a filter and fan for much less than that so thought this was a decent deal.

They do and for much less  £190 for 2 filters a H14 and a pre filter, £100 for a fan £20 for wood cut to size by B and Q, £30 for a controller

Total £340

I will build you one for £500

So that price is not too bad.  Building one yourself is a nice experience though.

Looks just the job, can you link me to where you got the filters and the fan?

A lot of the places I looked didn't state their prices online.

Thanks,
