DMT study 1

Have you smoked DMT before?
If so, I am looking for participants for a study into the positive effects and potential dangers of DMT. The study will look at the subjective effects of DMT, the perception of risks amongst users and the reasons individuals choose to use it.
I'm hoping the results will provide important evidence towards the scientific significance of DMT and it's legality in the UK and USA. If you would like to take part, follow this link: https://livpsych.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eDI1EmgqV4NXUFf

Thank you.
Also, feel free to discuss personal experiences of DMT. Unfortunately I was not able include all the sections I intended, but I am also very interested to see if there are commonalities between the symbols individuals see on DMT trips. For example the jester is very common.

I wouldn't want to wade into the "entities" pool if you're discussing actual science.
The final page of questions was pretty heavily oriented to point out disorientation/confusion/mania elements-- we'll see how many people actually experience the levels of dysfunction that page of Q's is asking about.
Very strange way of quantification of those questions, too-- scale from "uncommon" to "mostly yes" to "very yes" felt very imprecise and simply didn't answer the questions that were asked in an intuitive way

I'm not necessarily talking about entities being real, just that there may be repeating themes or symbols between the trips of different people.
Also I understand what you mean by the rating scale being imprecise, but it's very difficult to find a scale that can sum up such a subjective experience. The scale itself is tried and tested by some of the big names in psych research though.

I think the occurrence of jesters in DMT experiences is purely through auto-suggestion, there is no special significance of this character/entity. The same way "machine elves" have spread through modern culture, but are in fact the invention of one man. There are some curious things I've come across though that when describing them to other people have found that other people have also been experienced them. For example
- Coming to a large and complex lotus flower as the gate to "there"
- Being encased in directionless white light
- Floating in space (literally in the cosmos)
- Flying down a tunnel at warp speed that has incredibly random turns
- Following a pipe at warp speed that has incredibly random turns
- Being chastised be invisible entities and refused entry
- Being seduced by entities and other sexual activity
- Meeting an enormous God that has disks/light coming out of its mouth (masculine)
- Meeting a powerful 3 eyed God, sometimes multifaced also. (feminine)
- Witnessing life and death, creation and destruction scenarios (spiritual)
- Being inspected by and/or operated on by entities (often traumatic)
These are just some that I have found. But for every vision that there was a commonality with someone else there's a thousand that are completely random. It's like if we keep pulling random things out of people's psyches who live in the same cultures and time in history how many draws before we get a match? I read very little about other people's experiences until I had done it more than 30 or 40 times, only then I started to seek commonality about those experiences. >99% of what I had experienced was unique. Being in space and the lotus flower gate are the only resoundingly common experiences as far as I know. The rest is less than statistical anomaly. After reading other peoples reports my future journeys were effected by what I had read. I saw jesters and machine elves and other DMT pop culture entities. But I don't think these things originated from within me. It goes to show how easily our minds take on things and can manifest those as expectations, despite us not consciously seeking that.

All those things you mentioned are surprisingly common. I would be inclined to agree that hearing about certain phenomena makes them more likely to happen. However, there there may also be other explanations. The first step thought is to prove that a correlation can even be found, then further research could go on to explain why.
