How does an immensely oil-rich, highly industrial nation stay dirt-poor? How does the pres. have billions while EVERY 5th RUSSIAN HAS NO RUNNING WATER? How does a nation most famous for its art and music become an oppressing military force?
Not sure where you're going with this. Should I post a random list of some of the many areas where Ukraine sucks?

My question to you was what do random facts about Russia have to do with the topic at hand? You were trying to dodge my asking for sources, which you still haven't provided.

They aren’t random facts about Russia. They are facts that beg the question, how does someone with such a terrible record remain president for over 20 years?

Thank you.
Somehow the thread turned into some random facts about Russian alcoholism. As if that didn't exist before Putin.

I don't live in Russia, but the majority of Russians love the guy.
How does Donald Trump get elected in America?

Putin is Russia’s dictator. Facts about Russia are relevant and the context of my post is clear...MY POINT WAS IN THE FIRST SENTENCE OF THE POST. You just choose to ignore it. Maybe caps will be harder to ignore?

You are so disingenuous. The state of the Russian nation is totally relevant to a discussion about the country’s leader for the past two decades.

This is fact because Putin’s polls say so, right? Putin has no reason to bolster Putin’s popularity

Falcon was recently bragging about Assad’s great poll numbers. He doesn’t seem to get how dictatorships work. Which is odd, because he really loves our planets current crop of dictators.

Yeah it’s a convenient talking point, and it gives him a chance to oh-so-righteously call for proof. Twighead aaaalmost caught him with the Medvedev presidency. I was about to apologize about my diagnosis of falcon as a narcissist, but then he doubled back on the admission.

No. Not Putin's polls.
Russia is an open country now, and anyone can take a poll there, and many different organizations do.
Keep trying for that King of Make Believe crown, I think may be gaining some ground on koods.

No not bragging about them. Just stating them. And no I don't love dictators, I simply hate make believe about them.
Looks like you don't want to give up your King of Make Believe crown.

Speaking of Russia, I wonder what's going on here. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/478952-trumps-newest-russia-adviser-leaves-post-report
"Andrew Peek, the head of European and Russian affairs at the National Security Council, has left his post three months after he started, people familiar with the situation told Bloomberg Saturday evening.
Sources told the publication that Peek was escorted from the White House Friday.
Earlier on Saturday, Axios reported that he had been placed on administrative leave pending a security-related investigation.
Peek joined the NSC in November, coming over from the State Department where he was a deputy assistant secretary.
An NSC spokesman told The Hill: "We do not discuss personnel matters."
Peek also declined Bloomberg's and Axios' request for comment.
Peek was reportedly expected to accompany President Trump to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland next week.
Peek's two predecessors, Tim Morrison and Fiona Hill both testified during the House's impeachment proceedings against President Trump.
Peek's departure is the third time in less than a year that the position has been vacant."
