What do you mean he will head Parliament starting in 2024?  That depends on whether he even wants to stay in office when he's that old and if he then gets elected to be chairman.  It's weird how you and koods believe Putin is Superman.

Navalny has little popularity in Russia.  And if he ever does get elected President, then he'll rule the country.

No.  It's under his control because of his title.  He wouldn't any have control if he were janitor.

In truth, most of the people who “resigned” (as if they had a choice) will be reshuffled into the “new” gov.

People don't get jailed in Russia for protesting unless they do it illegally without getting a permit, which aren't hard to get.

Cheney and Rumsfeld ran the country when Bush was President and got us into wars based on lies, making millions for themselves in the process.

The major difference being they weren't very popular in the US.  Shouldn't we be more outraged about that?

I just want people reading this to note that I didn’t ask about Cheney or Rumsfeld, and you didn’t answer the question at all. Neither of them CONTROLLED a u.s. president btw.

Dude, read.
I never said he’s gonna head parliament.
And “he’s in control because of his title” doesn’t jive well with your concession that he was in power while Medvedev was president.

So you don't see the difference between being the Prime Minister of Russia and being one of 616 members of parliament?  Alrighty then.

Look, it's clear you and koods love to make believe how things are in Russia that totally contradicts how most Russians feel.  I should nominate you guys for a Make Believe award on Sesame Street.

Backtracking on your concession already?

I’m not gonna address questions that were already answered in OP’s article.

I love how you feel that you know the opinion of “most Russians”. Priceless.

But nobody explained yet how Putin keeps control of the country by giving Parliament more power.  It's make believe caused by Putin Derangement Syndrome.

There are public opinion polls, in case you weren't aware.

In reality, “how most Russians feel” is tired. They don’t believe government exists to serve them because they’ve been fucked by said gov at every step.

They cheer for their nation’s foreign conquests, but cry over their internal way of life - the corruption, the limited freedom, the lack of economic opportunities...

Russian opinion polls are even less reliable than the elections results. Only Putin’s couch-activist army claims to trust them. Congrats on making General btw.

You like polls and stats, huh?

Wanna know which country is top 3 in all of the below?
the most suicides in the world?
The most child suicides?
Most drug OD?
Largest population of injecting opiate users?
Most alcoholics?
Most domestic violence?
Biggest property price to income ratio?
Largest wealth gap? (Yes, even worse than the US)

Well Russia is a shit place to live because (and only because) of Putin’s gov policies and/or lack thereof. And that’s a fact.

How does an immensely oil-rich, highly industrial nation stay dirt-poor?
How does the pres. have billions while EVERY 5th RUSSIAN HAS NO RUNNING WATER?
How does a nation most famous for its art and music become an oppressing military force?

I know one Russian guy. Refugee. Came here six years ago and was granted status because his
Life was in danger in Russia because he had the nerve to stand up for gay rights. Russia is the most backwards country in the developed world and a lot of that has to do with being run by a criminal enterprise for two decades.

Putin has worked for the government his entire life yet he is worth billions of dollars. Falcon doesn’t actually give a shit about corruption. He just likes to use the notion of corruption as a weapon to attack people he doesn’t like.

That sounds like a recipe for 24 years of electoral victory :laugh2:

This constant Putin shilling by falcon is an insult to the intelligence of anyone who has to endure it.

I've already agreed Russia is behind on gay rights.  I won't support Russia unless you make believe about them, which you do all the time.

I actually don't support this, oh great King of Make Believe.  Putin got rich in the 90's during Russia's transition to capitalism when many Russian officials got rich.  I think he and the other Russian billionaires should give the money back.
