Some epic playing in the band and china>rider performances in 72-73 imho
Also to me it feels like the acid side was still the main drug, 77 and onward you can sorta tell they are getting into the other stuff.

I was just thinking about it for me it's like by 73' the jams just get so up thier own ass it's really annoying to me then it takes till about 77' for them to start playing around with the sound again in a meaningful way to me. Obviously like I said there's alot of exceptions. It's alot like how phish has been for the last like 30 years now only they never got out that phase only went deeper with it and are now just completely dead in alot the more serious jam scene circles

It's interesting- I hop around, and find it inpossible to peg a fav year.. Because the music spanned so many decades, and evolved with the time.
Over the years, my own taste in them has followed suit. It's a true spiritual connection, to listen to a song for the 1000th time, and hear something new, or suddenly understand the message in lyrics. For example, when I first started listening as a youngin, I found Wharf rat/loser boring. Now those two are held near and dear in highest regard.
The early years were most on point, but then some of the most cherished songs came later. Not to mention, Brent...
Suga I know you like Donna Jean, but I can count on one hand the songs I find her an asset. Other than that, I feel she stole the show, and could be screechy and sometimes off key.
But damn, could Keith play them keys.. Once they left, I feel it gave Bobby the opportunity to step forward become more prominent. Always held the fantasy that they should have recruited Janis, instead.

Okay.
Did you know robert hunter wrote this song Thunder for billystrings??
Why not mayer..?!
Really sit on that.
Now tell me that one of the greatest lyricists in history didnt intend to title a song thunder for one of the meanest string players since jerry in direct reference to the 13 point bolt that was held so closely to dead fans throughout the years.
Put your ear to the ground.
You hear that?
Thats right.
Billy strings
New campaign?
BILLY FOR MAYER!
its a trade not politics. #billyformayer #billyformayor #fyckyoueatmyassid #dead4life ## #hashtagtag

Yeah but we've seen all those guys play a million times over the years and Mayer is a complete joke. The crowd is even worse its funny cuz I've been going to grateful dead events locally for years and years where the fuck were any those people you see at dead and co? It's all like middle aged mouth breathers who's favorite song is like trucking or Casey Jones. I don't know who's giving those idiots money and booze but they sure seem to have alot of it. I mean I can't wrap my head around it who's giving someone so fucking dumb that much money? Then I'm sitting in a literally stadium full of them just full to the brim with these idiots so a soon as I'm done waiting in line for my $17 fuckign bud light I pretty much have to get right back in line if I want to drink enough beer to hold a buzz for a fuckign grateful dead show fucking have to walk a mile to smoke hash because if try toke up in the crowd you'll be the only one with the balls to smoke at a dead show filled with yuppie idiots that some crocodile dundee looking security officer spots it immediately and hassles you. Then when your buddy tells him to suck his dick some third man in throws a drink and some major scuffle breaks out and your ejected before set break. I mean what the fuck kind of vibe is that for a dead show? How is that fun in anyone's mind? I really like the other side projects like Billy and the kids which features Aaron magner of the disco biscuits and last time they had Billy strings play. Those shows blow anything dead and co out the water. Way more chill vibes and less of some kinds clip show money trap for middle aged idiots. That's the vibe I got money grab shitshow.

Dead and Co start the tour last night in Raleigh NC.. Amid the panic at the door with "MUH paper please!!" the show went on problem free according to sources. Opening with Touch of Grey the sentiment that we will fall asleep, I mean get by.. The bands energy tried to gain traction with Shakedown Street but again its grove was slow .. I dont know what the DEAL is but DEAL another slow timing .. Maybe Tennessee Jed can help, Might want to get back now.. because Brown Eyed Woman going to be another sleeper.. Finally a little pep in the step with a New Speedway (please dont dominate the rap jack with nothing new to say Dr Fauci) and that ends set 1..
Set 2 .. Playing in the band< not like these dudes ever had another occupation >think they can get it right this time.. Trucking Whoa baby are we finally in gear?, no we're going down hill very fast.. Help on the way, never cared for Bobby handling the lyrics thankful handed off to Mayer /Drums Space< cant possibly mess that up. Wheel, Death Dont Have No Mercy great pick with all the persons so called dying and muh forced vax to attend the show. smirks. And ending with Not Fade Away.. Do please
