Anyone else with PE - stubborn to dry.
    #26435403 - 01/15/20 06:01 PM (4 years, 14 days ago)

Weird,  I do a fair amount of cultivation, I use dehydrators. My Normal dry time for a full load is just around 7 hours. Recently, been having some really stubborn PE, that just won't get cracker dry, even after 10hrs, small or large. I do notice more a filament structure inside the PE than regular cubes. These have to be to dry, but still a little bit spongy. Anyone else experience this?

All 3 dehydrators running at 158, for the helluva it, I left a few in for 16 hours, still exactly the same. This things are very fibrous internally, thinking the make up is keeping them spongy.

Just weird, I harvest 15 monos a month, never seen this.Im running separate PE cultures, one genetic line dries normal, this line doesn't.

PE routinely take 24 hours even longer for me to get properly cracker dry. A 160F

It's also possible other fruits you are harvesting aren't completely cracker dry. Try weighing what you're drying and only they stop losing weight (moisture weight)
But definitely for PE 24 hours isn't that abnormal for the big fat dongs

Other fruits 100% cracker at 7 hrs, but damn 24? They're going back in. Shit I dry 50+ grammers in 9hrs.

I have had some that have a weird sponge like inside that will crush if you pinch the stem.

It is weird some will dry solid like rocks and others have this weird soft pith foam thing going on, I thought they were still wet at first but I kept drying and drying and it never got solid or as hard as the other ones.

I just started splitting most of the medium and bigger ones to be sure.

Do 24 hours dude.

Some genetics have a 'spongy' feel even properly dried for 48 hours @160°F,
this has made me nervous so I dried further but it seems to be just some genetics do that.

But do us all a favor and don't ever dry shrooms for 7 hours, just do 24 hours man.

You're triggering us. C'mon. Have some decency

I agree 24 hours minimum on all fruits is best. Ever since running into some issues with fruits getting bendy/moist again (within a matter of a few weeks, and in a sealed jar or bag) I started drying all my fruits 24 hours. Stopped running into the issue. |Anything less than 24hours and that was happening for me :shrug2:
