"Russia's government has resigned, hours after President Vladimir Putin proposed sweeping constitutional changes that could prolong his stay in power."
I wonder what Mr. Russia Falcon makes of this

It was an orchestrated little scene they played out. Enough Russians came out to protest last year that Putin decided not to run for the 5th time. As such, he needs to transfer his powers to a position he WILL be holding after 2024. ...and what good little sheep his gov turned out to be. I bet 80% of them will get reshuffled into different gov positions.

The guy has been either president or prime minister of Russia since 1999.
That's a long god damn time.

Russia is becoming a monarchy again. Works when you have a good monarch.
It's going to be interesting to watch this play out over the next few decades.

Here's a few points from your article:
"If approved by the public, the proposals would transfer power from the presidency to parliament." "There is speculation he could seek a new role or hold on to power behind the scenes." "There would be a nationwide vote on changes that would shift power from the presidency to parliament." "Other measures include: Strengthening laws that prohibit presidential candidates who have held foreign citizenship or foreign residency permits"
I don't see the concern? It has to be voted on first by the country. And should anyone really be concerned if Putin decides to run for one of the 616 seats in the Russian Parliament?

Don't be broadly naive , a whole government doesn't just up and resign as someone makes sweeping constitutional changes.
"Thanks for your service!"
The elections there aren't exactly legit
They have these votes to create an image of democracy but you can't exactly in clear conscious vote no without being threatened.
There's a plan here and you're just trying not to see it.

You’re so on point it’s scary.
But boy, did you just get yourself into an endless, pointless exchange.

I don't know anything about this yet except what I've read from your article which says: "Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced that the government was resigning to help facilitate the changes."
I still don't understand why you're so concerned about Parliament getting more power. As I've already said, if Putin decides to run for one of the 616 seats in the Russian Parliament, how much power will that give him?
I'll talk to my Russian connections about how they view this, because I don't know much about it yet.

Source? Or make believe? You might want to revisit a prior discussion on this first.

I DON'T see it. But I can't wait to hear you tell me about it.

Him giving the parliament more power is a facade as he's certain that he controls parliament to such a degree he can do whatever he wishes.
Do you believe that they will vote against Putin? I don't need to prove to you that their elections are rigged, all of the candidates that got through the intense rigamarole to even run against him were essentially shadow puppets to create the show. The ones that actually tried to run against him were given all the shit that their government could possibly even throw at them. I'm sure you'll just respond - sources, sources etc. as you can do this all day
I don't need to tell you about his plan to continue his grasp over the nation, that will all unfold right before your eyes as this continues, we'll have to wait about 4 years to see what happens in 2024 elections.

I do want sources. I'm getting tired of arguing with make believers when I back up all the things I say, such as the prior discussion on Russian elections.

Ok, let's make a signature bet about whether Putin will still be in control in 2024. Or will you chicken out like koods does every time?

Do you think he'll still be president after 2024? If not, how do you think he'll remain in power?

He will be in a position that controls authority - the title doesn't matter so much.
He can switch around to being prime minister or whatever It's not like he didn't control vastly more things than Mendevev when he was - can you admit that?

How do you think giving more power to parliament is going to help him if he becomes prime minister?

My favorite koods move is make believing he knows exactly what's going on even while he's still totally ignorant.
But feel free to tell me what you believe happened, and I'll tell everyone what my Russian contact told me.
