I've had two. Not that model though. They seem a bit expensive to me and the quality seems to have gone down hill in the 15 years I owned two. That said, they're still pretty good. I think the EU nerfed the max power allowed in vacuum cleaners a few years ago which wouldn't surprise me and seems daft. If they're trying to save energy that seems counter productive because it will take longer to get the same results... so the energy used will be the same. Maybe I am over thinking this.

my parents have some sort of addiction to expensive vacuums they had two dysons two kerbys and a like $3000 rainbow i think the kerbys where best the one from the late 80s and another from 04 still both work the dyson was way more easy to deal with tho. the rainbow might be good its the one they use these days but it was $3000 i would want a hooker to pick stuff out my carpet with her ass for that price...

$3,000 for a vacuum
jeezus
I almost bought the Roomba but I didn't because I felt that it was just way too much for a vacuum
And that was only $300

People don't talk about Rainbows anymore. If it's the same as the one I've used, they use water as filtration. It's basically a dirt bong. Fucking disgusting but it never needs a filter and its the most hypoallergenic thing ever next to high-end HEPA.
I personally subscribe to the $150 range. Motors burn out, it's what they do. I don't want trash but 3k just for clean carpets is idiotic. I had a Bissell at that price (actually on sale for $100) and it was fucking awesome.

This is what one amazon review says about dyson v11
Overprice Malaysian hype Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 May 2019 What a joke. Anyone who buys this deserves to pay £50,000 for it.
1. Made in Malaysia. Nothing British about it. 2. 6 minutes of runtime. 6. 3. Non removable batteries. 4. Tiny capacity. 5. Messy non-hygienic emptying. 6. Ridiculous price. Outrageous joke. £600!!! 7. Cheap creaky plastic build. 8. Filters to wash. Despite what they say. 9. Trigger needs held in during use. 10. Suction nothing like a good corded machine. 11. Battery performance will drop over years, but not covered by warranty.
Even after all of these, its pretty clear dyson v11 is a bit shit, but its the best cordless on the market

It’s an unpopular fact, but corded bag vacuums are the best outright vacuums. Corded mean more power, bags because they filter and get replaced regularly. Nobody ever replaces the filters on their bag-less models, and that means they work for shit after a while. Bagged vacuums also tend to hold way more dirt.
I use a Roomba because I’m lazy, and it kicks ass, but they don’t clean as well as proper vacuum. I also have all hardwood so the roomba does better than it would if I had carpet.

I've got a sharp and it's worked very well for years. It's getting a little sad, but for the listed price, function, ease of use, and maneuverability, I've been incredibly happy with it.
It was given to me used, but I think it's in the $150 range. It's a navigator I believe..
I've also got a kirby, but it's kinda finicky. Besides it's big, bulky, heavy, and inconvenient. Even with the motor that moves it forward and back for you. It simply doesn't have the maneuverability of the shark.
The shark does hard floors well too, and while the kirby has height settings and is supposed to work well for that, I've never had good luck.

I agree with this right here. The trend towards everything being cordless/wireless is great, but I still feel like battery power has difficulty matching a cord. Same with the filters; changing bags all the time is inconvenient, but efficient.

Honestly By the time you are done messing with the charger and finding a place to put it, it's not even any more work for a corded. I feel the same about most tools. Batteries die, cords are forever

Often, the batteries are crazy expensive.
Other than my drill, my weed whacker and air blower are battery powered. The weed whacker and blower aren't as good or powerful as corded, but much more convenient than stretching 100' of cord for lawn maintenance.

I had to replace the battery on my Boss's Dyson V6. The batteries are available, and it only required a screw driver to replace it. Not too bad, but kind of expensive.
For the record, I prefer my battery drill. It's plenty powerful for the majority of work I do. One time I was building a trailer and had to drill out like 4500 rivets. For that, the corded drill was preferred. I actually ruined two corded drills during that process.
My mother in law has a central vacuum. Clearly not an option for most, but it's kicks ass. You just have to drag the house around and plug it in different places, but the best part is that at the base boards in several areas you just press a foot pedal and it opens a door where you can just sweep dirt in. Just like at the barber shop. Poof the dirt is gone! Of course they have this large like 40 gallon shop vac on the wall in their laundry room that is the actual vacuum, and presumably it needs emptied from time to time, but it beats traditional systems IMO.

My dyson works great. Shocking how much other vacuums leave behind.
