Beating bacteria

I'm use to using a glove box with good success, recently upgraded to a flowhood.
Still perfecting sterile technique but I spray my room with Lysol, run the hood for at least an hour before working and be sure to wipe everything down with alc, use gloves and mask etc,
Doing simple G2G transfers from either a clean plate or a healthy fully colonized jar, receiving jars aren't open for much longer than a couple seconds.
I am using whole oats using bods easy af Tek, 30 min boil, til they are al dente inside and not much white density showing. PC for 120 minutes except as soon as I transfer them the myc seems slow to recover and struggles to hop onto new grain at a healthy speed, most of them end up stalling out to the classic bacteria spots.
Could this be fixed by lowering the grain moisture a little? Or perhaps tightening up my sterile technique even more

but they're so simple and they work!
Have a buddy using the same brand with 100% success rate, so it's obviously on me, I think I answered my own question with reducing moisture content a tad and being extra sterile

Oats FTW!!! Ive never sprayed my room with anything, don't wear a mask, and typically work in front of my hood wearing clothes I wore to work. Rarely ever throw away a jar of oats. Just figure out something you are doing wrong cuz it ain't the grains fault.

I only run my hood for a minute or 2 before I use it and never had a new plate contaminate.
Struggled with oats for a while with bacteria but my last batch I let dry overnight on a screen and they all turned out great. Seems like most of the problems people have with oats are them being wet even when they appear dry.
I'm not totally back on the oat bus but I'm going to keep working with them along with rye and note performance.
