I’m sorry to keep blowing this up BUUT I received a spore print from doctorghosty last November. I made a liquid culture and poured it in several spots. Dug about 5 inches, poured half a cup and left it. IT WORKED.

HOW TO CREATE WEILII LC sorry if there is any errors in this. I copy and pasted a text that I sent to a friend.
Pressure cooker, mason jars, filter floss, tin foil, honey and I used distilled water. Take the jar lid and stab a dime size hole in it. Stuff some filter floss in it and make it really tight. You want only want air to pass thru and you also don’t want it hanging down into the jar. If the liquid touches it then it’s ruined cause bacteria will wick into it. Take the jar, fill it like halfway with distilled water and one teaspoon of honey. I think it’s one teaspoon of honey per 750mL. Wrap tin foil over the glass opening. Then take your lid with filter floss and screw it on and be careful to not break the tin foil you just put on the glass. Then wrap the lid with tin foil again. This way when you pressure cook it none of the filter floss gets wet. Pop that mason jar into a pressure cooker for an hour and half on low pressure. You cook it too high and the honey caramelizes and it’s ruined lol.
After it’s cooked take them out and let them cool for like 6 hours so it’s room temp. Then take off the outer layer of tin foil. Take a sterilized needle and stab thru the hole to break the under layer of foil. Kind of move it around so the hole in the tin foil is as big as the hole that you poked in the lid. Sterilize with a lighter is easiest. Now take the jars and sterilize the whole counter with alcohol and your hands. Sterilize like you’re trying to avoid the plague or COVID. Pop that jar open super carefully to not let too much air in. Take your spore print and scrape it like 3 times with a butter knife. Sterilize butter knife beforehand with lighter. Make sure lighter is sterilized before you start. Also be careful using lighter when you have alcohol everywhere lol. I almost burned the kitchen down cause I had a tiny puddle.
I had about a 80% success rate. If it goes cloudy at all it’s contaminated. Then after a week you should see stringy mycelium growth. I swirled then around once a week to break it up. After a month you’ll have a nice bit of LC. Take your jars and pour them into a water bottle so it’s not suspicious. Poke holes in the lid so it’s like a spray bottle. I sprayed in habitats that resembled good weilii activity. This particular spot was in a recently sodded with bermuda and in shade on the edge of some pine straw. Feel free to ask any questions.
Also I made sure it was very wet when I poured them out. We also had rain in the forecast all the week too.

After searching nearly everyday for two weeks, I can finally confirm weilii in the Dacula area! The tiny little baby ones are my favorite, I even bought a dehydrator for the season cause I'm so hype. Totally worth the sweat and ant bites for these bad bitches right here.

This was a manicured bed of pinestraw, not pine needles that had dropped from trees. I had looked at so many different spots like that and not even found mycelium. I honestly wasnt even searching for this patch either and just saw it sticking up through the p straw.
The other area was my previous find with really short and dense grass. The grass that nice neighborhoods use and it always looks like yellow grey trash in the winter lol

That’s good to know! Yeah, I totally don’t look at places like that anymore. Gonna keep my eyes open now.

Found a little honey hole today!! Cumming GA, sorry forgot to take habitat pics, they were on the tall grassy incline hill mostly cover by grass. Had to sift through to get them. Totally worth it. 136gs wet! Some of them are a little past they’re prime but I think they are still goood to eat. Also if anyone could message me or reply on the best way to persevere/dry these baby’s out it would greatly appreciated. Much love!

Sweet finds! Fan dry for 36-48 hours then out over silica gel or use a dehydrator.
179 pages from ONE state. Whole countries can’t top us, dawg! Mushroom capitol of the wooooorrldd. Hahaha.

Thank you so much for the drying advice! The fan drying should be no issue, but I don’t have a dehydrater or silica gel. So are there any other opinions? And if not where can I buy silica gel?

At any grocery store go to the pet isle and you are looking for cat litter that is 100% silica gel. You. An get a huge bag for $8.
Just don’t let the mushrooms touch the silica. Separate them with paper towel in a closed container.

I had some calcium chloride rock salt laying around from last years freeze. Turns out that can be used as a desiccant. Spread a thin layer on a tin tray. Lay down papertowels, parchment paper, and wet mushrooms. Put tray in big paper bag. Put small fan / space heater in front of bag. Gets em cracker dry in 36hr.

You can also buy desiccant packs from amazon and put them in your jar once dried... I’ve been using the packs out of vitamin/kratom containers too.

The absolute best way to preserve them is a dehydrator on it's lowest setting until they are cracker dry. Then you can store them in the freezer and they shouldn't lose any potency for at least several months up to a year I believe.
If you don't have a dehydrator you can place them on a screen over a box fan and that will do the trick, although take quite a bit longer. Alton Brown made an episode about jerky in which he demonstrates the best way to dehydrate things at home without a "unitasker". You can probably find that on youtube somewhere. The point is you want them to be "cracker dry" then you can store them in the freezer
