Huge news for me! I am thrilled to put COWETA COUNTY on the 2020 map! Two of my goals met at once! Find caerulescens on my home turf, and find them when I'm not actually hunting!
I was driving down a private road to go somewhere and saw them on the slope going towards the wood line. Got out to investigate and boomsy! I don't think this area has been disturbed lately though I could be wrong. But I'm stoked!!!

man i wish the ones growing right off my paths were like evly's and active, wow just had dejavu typing that, if its just a tiny little drainage creek or if theres no water within a 100 yards could i still find caerulescens or they 100% need to be close to a good flowing body of water or somewhere that retains alot of moisture? Also if its flat ground (even if its a little pine forest) covered with pine straw theyre still very unlikely? good to hear about those finds in a possibly undisturbed area, all the disturbed areas i can think of are still being disturbed and i guess i would have to wait a couple years to check them and i really hope i dont have to wait 2 years to get some, im feignin now damnit!

I'm still finding dozens and dozens of them. We are really playing the game on easy mode right now. It is so surreal to see them in such large numbers and to just leave them in the ground. 16 year old me would be pissing himself.

A neat little before and after: here is a pin from Wednesday. and that same pin from today >>>

Check out my earlier post brother! If you look at pic 4 and 5 youll see the habitat I found mine in. Literally side of a road, no water for miles. It was a north facing downward slope with a nice high canopy giving shade for most of the day. At least a 30 year old neighborhood...no idea when or why the ground would have been disturbed recently.
I'm usually hunting the sewer lines and things of that nature but both of my weilii finds have been nowhere near those habitats. Thinking I need to switch my game up and stick to where I've had luck.
My biggest take away so far though honestly was advice from someone here, lewp...keep checking NEW spots. Obviously go back to some of the spots youve found that seem ideal but just keep putting effort into finding more places.
I legitimately have probably a hundred hours + in the field this year alone and finally just found a patch today.
Get out there and enjoy the hunt, good things will come!!

I just walked 4 miles, 2 in 2 out, on this sewer line trail for a ~8 year old subdivision in cherokee.

Found absolutely nothing but a lot of the terrain fits the bill... are these things even worth checking in the future?
I was thorough on this. I mean Im completely drenched, muddy, scratched up, and probably got poison ivy hahaha
I am confident had there been anything here I would have found it. Should I ever check this place again? Feeling more lost than ever
thanks for any info and all the help!
That pic makes me miss the weilii hunt. Keep finding spots like that, and you'll find them eventually. Weilii are frustrating because they don't always pop up, even in seemingly ideal habitats, and even when tons of Lacrymaria are in the area. Absolutely worth keeping an eye on that spot though.
Nice dog too. Border collie?
Sorry for the late reply
Get back out there my man! That day hunting was really great even though I didn't find anything.
And thank you, border collie indeed! Shes not mine sadly, but shes super smart and a stellar companion when hunting.

Thanks! I'm happy to find them here. I know they've been found before but if you search shroomery there's very little evidence to support it. Only problem is that I really don't have much of a legit reason to go down this road very often. I won't have a reason to go back that way until November! I did pass the knowledge on to someone very legit to go and all I asked was to see pictures so we'll just have to see. I recommended the person walk the whole drive and check both sides.

Whoa. Took what I believed to be a small dose to enjoy the afternoon. 3 small-ish dehydrated shrooms. Wow. Gets me looking forward to some dedicated time and space with P. Caerulescens.

Finally got on the board!
Had a super bizarre experience finding my first landslides. Researched a spot on here that was a crapshoot based on security activity and location. I arrived and parked on an off-site location, walked over to the parking lot of where I was going to begin my search and started walking the perimeter. As I walked in I noticed this black guy with a head scarf wearing workout clothes and sunglasses walking the other way. I was working my way down the parking lot when, he all the sudden came over and asked me if I was looking for mushrooms. Well fuck. I'm a pretty straight shooter and said yeah, I'm checking out all of the different types of mushrooms and started to explain the different types to him and pointed out some of the ones growing in the mulch. As I was doing this I noticed two weilii with some pretty good color right there! I pointed out the gymnopus, told him what was up with those and then the weilii and told him about the bluing. He picked one of the weilii and just threw it back on the ground. He started to go into a spiel on how white people are foragers and the like and that most black folks don't do this kind of thing. I then explained the edible mushrooms common to the area and it got his motors turning. He told me there was a spot in the park where he saw a dude picking tubs of mushrooms. I was down so we headed to the park.
As we're going to the park he points out a bait car in the parking lot and security. Thank fuck he was there. We get to the park and I'm slightly hesitant going into the woods with some dude I just met, but I was like, fuck it, if I have to fight I can. I let him lead the way and I'm pointing out all of the different mushrooms when he takes me to a patch of chanterelles. Dope. I grab a couple, try to give them to him but he's not having it and we head back up to the original area. We walk through and get to his apartment complex and shoot the shit for half an hour or so with him telling me all about manifestation and positive thinking and him encouraging me to go out and find more mushrooms. We part ways, I go back and grab the two that I knew of, this being one of them.

I then went back to where I had parked to deposit the mushrooms and check out an area with a lot less heat. I beebopped my way down some slash lines to a sewer easement, finding plenty of mushrooms but not the ones I was looking for but ended up finding a pawpaw tree.

I grabbed a few and kept meandering around, ending up on a railroad track and then a park. I didn't find anything there so I walked back by the original place. I ended up finding three more in the grass right along side a busy road so I was too sketched to take pictures. I continued to look in other places with no luck but was psyched on what I had found and just the overall weird day I had.
