Probably just taking advantage of the wet microclimate the woodchips provide.

evly you take some of the best pictures. I love the perspectives that you get by getting the camera down to their level. I have also been seeing them fruit directly from wood chips, but I think that’s just because the woodchips cover the ground from which they fruit and when we pick them the wood chips pull away from the mycelium easily.

Sorry I didn’t get the weilii in habitat. My phone was dead at the moment.
New patch though! Stoked!
EDIT: Also chopped about 6 weilii with a string trimmed before I even noticed them.

maybe although i've never seen it personally.
i was out hunting with my wife the other day, and she noticed some mushrooms growing from a fallen log, and some more on the ground nearby. the ones on the log looked right but i thought they were something else. we threw them in a separate bag and went on. when we got home we printed them all and the ones from the log had white spores.
so be careful and always spore print.

Some sweaty samples from this morning’s walk.
Slowed way down and saw more than I knew were there. Weeping Widow starting to show up near these patches. WW was not visibly present at my last visit.

They're popping up on side that was just recently dozed. I'm 90% sure this is exact same patch I found/posted June 30. Can't believe they're already popping back up over here

That gives me hope for a few spots that I know similar to that.

Can be translated to "landslide" as well. Hence their nickname, the landslide mushroom

I'm back on the fuckin map boys!
Went out hunting today for about 6 hours. I checked miles of different spots and came up with fuckin nothing. Decided as a last ditch effort to just pull over and check just one more spot, a decent looking area that was on the way back home, and of course as soon as I get out of the car I fall into a pile of em.
Either the gods have smiled upon me for my hard work or are tired of hearing me bitch.
