Pretty much the same IMO.  10% of wet weight has been pretty spot on for me.

Agreed.  They are all 90% water.  Dried is about 10% of wet weight. No matter the spieces.  The only differences are in potency and trip to each spieces

Good to know, thanks

I will be sure to take better pics next time.  Got a little sketched since there was some people around.

They are almost too far gone.  Probably been there for a while.

Is it ok to pull them up, or is it better to just cut them like cubes?  I don’t want to mess this patch up!

Oh lawd....you opened up that can of monkeys....

Depends on what school of thought you're of. There's people who will aggressively argue both sides.

If I live I will kill you, if I die you are forgiven

I pull for the most part. If I am trying to keep the mushroom clean then I will cut it. You can pull them all day and not harm the mycelium.

Every one I pull up I cut the butts off and put them in my jar of shredded cardboard. In hopes that I can bury the contents on whatever property I end up moving to. I'm gonna take my tractor and grade up a spot. All my spore prints and stipe butts will go in.

Every other species, like edibles, I cut so they stay cleaner.

Thanks guys!  Didn’t mean to open that can Mental. Hahah.  So that settles it.  Gonna pull up every time.  Don’t mind a little dirt anyway.  BF, Yeah I remember reading someone’s post recently that said they save the butts.  So just got done cutting them and will bury them in the grading that has recently been done.  Glad I joined this forum!!! You all are awesome!!!!!!!!!

New to this forum, just wanted to ensure these are P. caerulescens. My first active find, many of the posts in this thread helped me locate these. Thanks so much!! Currently awaiting a spore print, will be posting those tomorrow!

Looks promising!
Do us all a favor though, next time start your own thread please for IDs, and then post it here once you get confirmation.
Once you get the spore print try and get some shots of the stem too, caerulescens have a very psilocybe looking stem. Once you get those post your own thread and you'll get alot better response!
Great finds and welcome to the shroomery!

I retrack my earlier statement.  Ive never seen one crack like the first picture.  But the stem and bruising is definite. Good find

All good bro, my bad for the crappy photos.  I will not post ones like that anymore.  Don’t want to cause any confusion at all.  They had probably been there for a week or so.  Kinda worked out since they were partially dried.  Saved me some effort.

That's them man. No need to wait for spore print, they've already dropped a load on the cap there. What a find! Gratz
