Checked a spot on my lunch break and found this mutant hiding. Didn’t have time to scour the spot but I took a habitat photo for y’all.

Yes, there’s a small slope there in the taller grass. Sometimes they pop underneath the edge of the kudzu. I’ve lifted leaves up to reveal whoppers

Nice finds guys! That’s good to know they are there in places like that. Only makes it more overwhelming to hunt, but definitely increases changes of finding em.

Habitat and in situ shots are what make any good actives thread. I really don't care about seeing mushrooms laid out on your kitchen counter.

Might I add, that slope South-facing so it’s in the shade all day
Edit: Doesn’t apply to all south facing slopes, just this one because the woods block the sun

Gwinnett- same spot I had my first active find last fall. I’ve only found them in about a 2x10 ft swath of land in this location. No where else in the area seems to produce.
I’ve got a dozen or so spots I’ve scouted out that I need to find time to revisit in better conditions...
I’m hoping for some extra free time next month to get out and look around.
Good luck y’all. Can’t wait to see what this fall brings.

I was having the same issue. I figured something out though. When I activated my 3 month supporter account every pic I was uploading was in the thousands of kb range. Look at your gallery and see that your pics in the last couple months are probably much larger size. I had to selectively delete newer pics to make space. Now I'm just having to delete older pics here and there.
Maybe you're having the same issue.
